With all forms of dance drama in Thailand, music forms an important role which is greatly bound by tradition

The performances you will see are mystical dances based on stories from classical Thai literature and folklore. The dancers wear traditional, colorful costumes providing a perfect opportunity for photos.

Young Ladies Preparing for a Dance contest

Ladies would be dancing the Thai Dance

This was in a small little town in the outskirts.
This is a dance contest and these ladies were waiting for their names to be announce and they were to do a bit of Thai Dancing, which is indeed quite interesting.

On a stage at the back of the Vimanmek Mansion daily at 10:30 and 14:00are displays of traditional Thai Dancing. The costumes are amazing and the dancers very graceful with extremely eloquent hand gestures.
If you visit Vimanek this is a must see show.

At the Teak Mansion they give daily exhibitions of traditional Thai dance. The show is free but there is a 20 Baht charge if you want to take photos.
