 | | | | Silom - Soi 2 and Soi 4: For all the hip hop luva's out there! | Tip Rating: | | | | |
Most hip hop lovers go to Speed cos the music is more hip and it will make you hop more :p A few other clubs that play hip hop music, they usually have the same list of songs and play them over and over. Let's say the dj's at Speed have a longer list of music and they try to add some flavor to it. It's usually empty on the weekday nights but it's just packed with no air to breathe or space to move on Fri's and Sat's! It's a lot of fun. The cocktails there are, well, not strong but it will get you thru the night. The price is average for the area. People who go there, quite a few are regulars. It's a mixture of the locals, tourists, expats and many students also. One thing, one bad thing, the place is kind of dirty. But when it's dark and you're having fun.. you wouldn't notice it.
Casual. Your own style... a few people dress in a hip hop style, baggy and big tee with a bandana and a cap. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Silom soi 4Directions: Saladaeng BTS Station or subway. It's the middle of the soi, on the right.

 | | | | Patpong: Ping Pong in Patpong | Tip Rating: | | | | |
hmmmmm.... we were warned.... the guide books, plural, warned us, the guides warned us, even the Bellman and the Taxi driver warned us... But being the very open minded people, women we are, being that we are in Bangkok, we went in search of the famous Ping Pong Show. I mean we dance and have gone to and enjoyed many an exotic show in say Vegas. Here we were expecting exotic, racy, professionals of the art of, well, exotic adult entertainment. We were directed by several people (about 3 separate individuals) away from Soi Cowboy to apparently the only "good" = less scam, places in Patpong. What we found was basicly the scam. The shows only run when "regular" business is slow. It was VERY dirty, not just in the erotic sense (we were expecting that) but literally dirty, disgustingly dirty. The girls perform tricks rather then a performance. It was nasty and degrading not only to them but to all of woman kind. The scam we had heard about didn't happen to us but it went something like this: they stop you at the door and make you pay, again, before you leave, basically empting your pockets. For us we had to pay to get in and keep paying before and after every trick, the naked girls....dripping naked girls (and I am not sure what the liquid was, a little too much liquid for it to be that kind of liquid.....someone please hand her a towel would ya?) would stand in front of you with their hands out waiting for the money before moving to the next person. Everyone paid. Leave a Comment Theme: Adult SpotAddress: Patpong

 | | | | Irish Pubs: FIRST BAR I EXPERIENCED IN THAILAND | Tip Rating: | | | | |
This pub was special to me mostly because it was the first view of the bar scene in Thailand when I arrived from the airport. The pub was packed every time I went, which was a few times in my little stay in Bangkok. Drinks are reasonable in price and the service is not too bad. The food is good, and unless you are really hungry, stay away from the bagets, they are huge. My brother ordered one and it must have been a foot long and 6 inches wide. It was funny to watch him try and eat it thats for sure. He was only expecting a light snack, so he got more than he bargained for. The pub also has a pool table, which is usually full, and a dart board. If anyone is interested there is also a tattoo shop in the back as well. I will go back here if I have to stay in Bangkok longer than a day, it was a fun place to visit and it will bring back memories of my first visit. ****UPDATE****I did return here after one year and it was a different experience for sure. I was used to travelling in Thailand, as this was my third trip, and this made adjusting to everything much easier and I had a great time. I was more relaxed and had a better view of Khoa San Road this trip as compared to my first. I also had the chance to bring a first-time person (Gweenie) to enjoy this area with me.
Light clothing is a must, but other than that anything goes. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Across the street from 7-11 on Khao San Road.Directions: It is about a five minute walk from where the airport bus drops you off near Khao San.
