Koi is a Japanese restaurant which was only opened in December 2005. The bar is an ideal place for early drinks and people watching definitely. The night I went was Saturday and there was a long queue of people trying to get into the bar, I didn't have a clue what the queue was for since the bar didn't look that packed. So when I asked the bar manager what was that about, he said it was a model's night and models are entitled to 6 free drinks plus dinner on the house! When I looked around, it was like 90% of the patrons were models, so I continued to ask how the owner managed to make any profit at all especially when I was told that model's nights run every other days! Apparently, Koi is only the owner's side business and it's not meant to make any profit. I wish we have such business mentalities in HK!
I was looking forward to have some sake but unfortunately, they don't serve it in the bar, think it's too troublesome to warm the sake up etc when I asked. Yes surely there are lots of beautiful young models loitering around but the drinks definitely weren't budget travellers.
For women - extra mini, tight tops, high mules, sexy clothes.....
For men - funky tees, just dress modelly like everyone else! Leave a Comment

Suzie Pub
Located in a small soi off Khao San Road, it is one of the first clubs in this area.
The food is mostly Thai, drinks are cheap (looking at THB 70.00 for a small bottle of beer!), and the music is happening.
Very packed on the weekends and reservation is required. However, those that are not into loud music and dancing, then there are other places on Khao San Road to chill out and enjoy a pint of beer!
If you want to have fun, be yourself, and meet new people, then this is the place....
Austin Pub
When the owners of Suzie Pub saw their business growing, they decided to open another pub called "Austin" (this information was given by one of the bouncers of Austin Pub 'bout two (2) ago).
Mostly a place to hang out and drink the night away. Does not have food here, so eat before you go

The Club with it's extreamly high ceiling is an awsome space in cramp Khaosan Road.It's the place if you want to dance in the heart of backpackers land and it fills up around 11pm.There are also comfortable seats near the dance area were you can take off your shoes,lay out and chill.....
