The Nana Plaza is a 3 story area with a courtyard setting. The area is filled to the rim with girlie bars, go-go bars, ladyboy bars and the general seedy atmosphere for somebody who is into this sort of thing and would like some company for the night. Personally, I was almost turned off by the gals, they all looked bored and not very enthusiastic. I mean really, do you really think beautiful young Thai women want to make it with fat, old and bald men. It is cool to see to stroll through just once, a unique environment for sure.
Dress Code: Anything goes. But the better you present yourself, the more girls will give you attention. Basically a common sense thing.

Nana Entertainment Plaza, commonly called Nana Plaza, is a three-story building with an enclosed courtyard.
The entire building and courtyard are full of bars all pumping out music and each one with "welcome staff" out the front talking up their bar to get you inside.
Most of the bars are of the a-go-go type bars with lots of female dancers with very little on! The only other businesses other than bars are a restaurant (Woodstock) and two short-time hotels (Spirit House and Taboo).
It's another world and one that a single guy could very easily get used too!

Nana Plaza is another well know red light area of Bangkok.
In Nana Plaza go up to the top floor and you will find the Carosel's Bar with two rotating carosels with a go-go show and a mechanical bull. Customers here are cheered on by the girls to ride this full sized mechanical bull!Once you are mounted a girl whips the *&!##%$ out of you while you try to hold on for dear life as the operator spins you around frantically for the last 10 seconds of your ride.
Make sure you have had more than a few drinks before you attempt to ride it...

Bangkok is world renowned for its go-go bars and sex industry. Nana Entertainment Plaza is a red-light district, which is rumoured to be the largest sex complex in the world. It is located on Sukhumvit Road Soi 4 across from the Nana Hotel, within walking distance of the BTS Skytrain's "Nana Station".
The Plaza is in the shape of a square, with a single opening on the western side, and consists of a ground floor and two additional floors. It's packed with go-go bars which are located inside while the ground floor is full of bars with TV's showing mostly English Premier League football games so it's a place to come and watch TV and have a beer as well. Most bargirls working at bars are willing to leave with customers upon payment of a bar fine. However, all is not what it seems as Nana's is also home to a few ladyboy establishments who are just fascinating to look at and actually chat too as well. You can spot them (or should that be, some of them!) a mile off as they're dressed over-the-top and always 'tarting' themselves up (doing their hair or make-up) far more than the 'actual' bargirls. It's all quite funny. You can come here quite innocently and just have a beer and watch TV and chat to the girls.

OK, I can hear some of the guys already groaning, thinking, whya re they even bothering, and yeah, I was a bit myself, but I'll try and answer your questions anyway.
There is not anyone of the three that you mentioned that are "safer" than the others. As always, using good judgement and common sense will prevail, but what does that mean in Bangkok?? If they charge a cover charge, then don't go in. Check and see how much their drinks, if you agree, then go ahead. And there is usually lot of farangs hanging around that you can ask which place is decently priced and go with that, probably your best bet. Buying ladies a drink never hurts, after all, you are there to see them are you not? It usually doesn't cost all that much more than yours and she is working hard to make a living. It's not like you have to buy them drinks all night long. Be friendly, you are in the land of smiles and the Thai's are as friendly as they come any where in the world, no matter their job. Yeah, you can say no, they usually wont be offended. As far as the hot chicks go, well, it's all relative. You can ask 10 guys and 50% of them will be divided on where to send you so just pick a place and bar hop, no reason why you can't see all three places in one night.
Good luck and have fun

This place was just a HUGE stip club. It was like 4 stories tall and packed with with men, women and tranny's. I was very drunk and accidentally stumbled into a tranny bar for a drink. I was amazed at how much they looked like women! I didnt even notice they weren't women until one of the "girls" told me.... that night could have ended badly but fortunately it didn't.

If you are looking for a place to be at night to party out. This place might be one of the place you want to visit. The place has 2 floors being a few pubs at the entrance and the rest filled with Ah Go-go bars. Quite a nice place to just chill out and have a beer but personally ah go-go bars is not really my scene. The pubs were a pretty nice place to hang out and you can play some locals games with the local. Just becareful as the working ladies there will tend to get you to have some special services. Unless you are genuinely interested, having a drink is good enough..

Nana Plaza (a red light district) in Sukhumvit is home to a number of GoGo bars. It is a fun place to pull up a chair and watch the people come and go and try to spot the kathoeys (ladyboys). Pharaohs bar right in the middle of the plaza on the ground floor is a good place to drink and people watch.
Nana plaza is set over a couple of floors and has a number of the bars employ kathoeys only -Casanova and Cascade.
I found that we generally got left alone (my boyfriend and I) and didn't get any hassle, although that may not be said if it were a group of guys, but I guess they generally know what they are going there for. Not a place I would normally go to hang out but while in Bangkok... Worth going just for the experiance.

Down in the fast place, shady side of Bangkok is the hilarious place that's a must for anyone in Bangkok. On one side of the bar is two rotating carosels with a go-go show that plays all night. But on the other side is a full sized mechanical bull! It's free to ride and if you last 60 seconds, you get a free drink. I actually made the 60 seconds, but you really have to hold on for dear life since the operator spins you around frantically for the last 10 seconds of your ride. An absolute laugh and a half if you head down with a group of people!
Dress Code: Don't wear a skirt or anything that will fly off of you!
