Patpong: Endless fun for all tastes at Patpong
Only two words: shopping and whores.
If you are keen on one or the other, come to Patpong and won't be disappointed.
Shame I don't have a pic to show...

Pat Pong: No Words to Describe
You have to check out the ping pong shows in Pat Pong. What these women can do with their nether regions is mind-boggling and more than mildly impressive - shooting darts at balloons, blowing out candles, turning water into coca-cola, razor blades, and so on... Also, don't fall for the girls walking around insisting on massaging your feet or shoulders for free - they really don't take no for an answer and they will DEMAND money. Also, the guys walking through the market telling you can go into the shows "for a free demo", it's bull, as soon as you sit down, most will demand you pay 300-500 bht for sitting down and some won't let you leave until you pay. My advice - pay it, it's not worth the fight - you won't win. You only live once - check it out!
Dress Code: Hmm... well, they are naked, so they're not so concerned with a dress code. I think it's safe to say anything goes.
Patpong: Seedy Nightlife
What can you say? There is certainly a seedy side to Bangkok that is renowned to the World, whether the Thais like it or not. The main areas are around Patpong and Nana.
Walk along the few Sois of Patpong, as well as Soi Thaniya and you will be treated to a scene not quite unlike the Red Light District in Amsterdam. Although much subdued these days compared to the past, you will see night clubs and bars with ladies in the skimpiest of bikinis prancing around poles and teasers passing out flyers or coercing you to enter to see "amazing" shows such as "pussy blowing a ping pong ball" etc. Walk along Soi Thaniya at night, and you will see ladies loitering along the streets with their pimps standing outside nightclubs and bars, trying their best to lure you in. Not the prettiest of sight.
On the other side of Patpong, along Thanon Surawong, you will find a quarter that basically caters to the gay (or gay curious) clientele. Here, you will see signs screaming "boys" and rows of bars packed with guys and needless to say, almost devoid of lady folks.

As an American girl - it hurts me to see that men (all kinds, by the way - fat, thin, ugly, bald, old, NASTY) come here and shop for girls. It is absurd to think that families are forced to sell their children to the pimps and bar owners in order to eat. Although I don't condone the actions here, I did walk through and might even invite you to do the same so that you may see the desparation and try to change the world...if you can...
Patpong: Ping Pong in Patpong
hmmmmm.... we were warned.... the guide books, plural, warned us, the guides warned us, even the Bellman and the Taxi driver warned us... But being the very open minded people, women we are, being that we are in Bangkok, we went in search of the famous Ping Pong Show. I mean we dance and have gone to and enjoyed many an exotic show in say Vegas. Here we were expecting exotic, racy, professionals of the art of, well, exotic adult entertainment. We were directed by several people (about 3 separate individuals) away from Soi Cowboy to apparently the only "good" = less scam, places in Patpong. What we found was basicly the scam. The shows only run when "regular" business is slow. It was VERY dirty, not just in the erotic sense (we were expecting that) but literally dirty, disgustingly dirty. The girls perform tricks rather then a performance. It was nasty and degrading not only to them but to all of woman kind. The scam we had heard about didn't happen to us but it went something like this: they stop you at the door and make you pay, again, before you leave, basically empting your pockets. For us we had to pay to get in and keep paying before and after every trick, the naked girls....dripping naked girls (and I am not sure what the liquid was, a little too much liquid for it to be that kind of liquid.....someone please hand her a towel would ya?) would stand in front of you with their hands out waiting for the money before moving to the next person. Everyone paid.
Cleopatra, Patpong: Topless Ago-ago dancers
Walk along Patpong 2, we could bump into many touts, soliciting for your presence at their `Bar'. Good sexy girls, come and see. Only XXX Bahts. And they may even flash a handout showing topless girls in provoking postures....Having had past unpleasant experience in one bar where the waitress told us, `what you paid is for the drinks- you have to pay to see the show', we were not taken in. At Cleopatra, we felt safer after being assured by the Manager that it is really free entrance, no cover charge and sexy ladies. But talking of the ladies, we don't find them so sexy that we would book them or allow ourselves to be entertained. To us, most of the ladies are rather matured. There are a few young ones with good shape. But in the light of the recent crackdown, they don't perform topless anymore. Perhaps when it is opportune time they could otherwise it may not be what you want. Nevertheless at the rate of 90 baht for soft drinks, this is cheap entertainment which only Bangkok can provide... When visiting the Bar, it may be good to tell the establishment that you only want to see and that you don't want girls to sit with you. But if you go for the girls, you may truly enjoy yourselves by buying them a drink or two..I think the best time to visit the bar is after 9.00 pm....
Patpong: A Night Out Different from Any Other!
If you are too conservative and closed minded about exhibitions that leans toward a sexual theme, do not enter any of the clubs at patpong especially those that offer "pussy shows". But if you're the type that can take this weird acrobatic show, why not try and take a look!
Pussy shows as they call it focuses on some kind of acrobatic skills Thai women do with their- um- private parts. Blades that are tied to a yarn that go to a length of about a yard comes out of them like it's natural! Their -um - parts do lots more than that which I won't share. =) Use your imagination... darts or pingpong anyone?
I think's its weird and yet i watched each exhibition after another and wonder how these women do it. I won't ever go back since it's only worth 1 visit. But the experience is interesting.
If you want a wholesome night out, go to the street parallel to patpong. there you'll find the bar that will suit your taste (they have lesbian bars, gay bars, or the usual heterosexual bars). The bars line the whole street. Try the local beer. It's stronger than it seems! I should know. I've had only 2 and my head's twirling already!
Dress Code: The usual clothes for night outs are the norm. Although I suggest you wear light textured clothing because the bars get pretty full and it gets pretty warm inside.

Patpong: As it gets dark...
There are alot of bars along Patpong. If you are a man, they will pull you to the bars where sexy, pretty girls dancing on the pole ;) And for ladies, there are men who will approach you if you'd like to check out male bars.. :)
Dress Code: I don't know..the last time when my friend & I went to one of the bar in Patpong, all the waiters & waitress there kept looking at our shoe(we were wearing sneakers). It's not like it's not allowed. But it's more like it's "strange" for ladies to wear sneakers in bars.. :p
Patpong: Infamous Patpong
After dinner, campy012, littlegirl0130 (Cathy), and I decided to check out Patpong, one of the infamous Red Light Districts of Bangkok. I'd always heard about it and was curious to know more about this seedier (and sad) aspect of Thai life. Suffice it to say, I did, via a little incident we had involving a tout, lady boys (or lack thereof), 300Bht sodas, and one straw (not used for the drinks). Sweet and wholesome Cathy, hope you weren't traumatized by this bizarre experience.
Patpong: Shopping and Sex Shows
Night markets abound all over Thailand, but this particular one is at world-famous Patpong. Here, street vendors offering bargain deals mask the ubiquitous go-go bars that have given Patpong its reputation. Men, farang or not love it here, while many others are just disgusted and saddened by the idea. But no matter what, the sex trade remains a societal norm, which continues to generate a substantial amount of income yearly from tourists.
gogo-bars and other stuff: Patpong
Patpong is famous for its night market ( see must see activities tip) and for its red light district.
People outside the gogo-bars try to get you inside by means of flyers. It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, the flyers are presented to you anyway ;-))
I had a closer look at the flyers, in which they advertize shows like 'pussy pingpong', 'pussy banana', 'pussy chopstick', etcetera. I suppose you can imagine the kind of shows that are going on in there.
Some bars have their doors open, so you can see the girls dance on the stage.
I felt kind of sad walking through this area, knowing that most of the girls probably don't want to do this, but are willing to please us tourists in order to make good money ;-(((
Pat Pong: Night Life, Night Escapades
Pat Pong is about 15 minutes tuk-tuk (tricycle) ride from the city center.
What's in there for you:
Adult Bars: Please be careful.... Select your personal choice. Mens Bars and Gay Bars are sprawling around the area. These bars are offering affordable drinks while ogling to the barenaked ladies on stage.
Shopping stalls: these days, prices are higher than that of Cha Tu Chak or any other shopping centers....
Dress Code: Anything you like...
Pat Pong: The street that lives at night
Realxed sceen with many girls dancing in each bar wearing only bikinies. Try not to visit this road it is someting special. Not only that such happening we do not have in Slovenia but it is quite cool atmosphere and a lot of people. You can buy something if you do not want to enjoy the watching of the girls. There are plenty of stuff they are selling and ofcourse plenty of girls for dancing to.
Now I understand more why Thailand is popular at men ... Thai girls are nice!

Pat Pong Road: Fun and Games
Pat Pong Road market is more then just a market, there's bars here of every kind, beer bars girilie bars stripper bars, sex bars, pool bars and a couple of just bars.
It won't matter what your choise of drinks would be you would be sure to find it here and get some good shopping done as well. If you don't like the bar your in, move on to the next one, there's loads of them, just be carefull of some of hte speaker out the front, they say no charge to get in but then charge you twice the cost for your first round of drinks, so just beware ok.
Other then that you will enjoy the night out.
Dress Code: Any thing goes here
Is known for nightlife. It has about 100 bars crammed in two lanes. Both lanes are connected to each other by a number of alleys.
Establishment are basically go-go bars, there are also several restaurants, massage parlors, a couple of hotels and supermarket.
There are also a busy night market on the entire pedestrian lane of Patpong 1 where numerous items are sold.
