    Easy Walking Shoes, Sports Saddles would be great

    Why's my title 'Don't Bother? Bcos Bangkok is a place whereby you can get anything and everything. Dun bother bringing your shades, cos it's so cheap over at bangkok, it'll cost around 180 -200 Baht, T-shirts? gosh, it's cheap, you can buy so much! If you are a woman, god bless! the lingerie in bangkok, esp wacoal is very cheap!! Thus you don't have to spend so much time and effort packing. Just pack your sense of humour, the energy to shop til you drop and a big heart to get ready to soak in bangkok's unique culture!

    BKK is a real shopping heaven!! Shopping... shopping... or... as Thai people say... "chopping... chopping..." :) Well, my packing list tip is... DON'T BRING ANYTHING!! BUY THERE!! . For example, a nice travel bag (piece of luggage) in Italy costs around 120 €. At Central or Siam Sq. you can buy a very nice one at 30 € or even less!!

    T-shirts, shirts, jeans, shoes and so on are very cheap in Thailand. I found bras & underware very cheap too, of course compared to Italian prices.

    Medical supplies are very cheap in Thailand, if you need something for headache or a cold or stomachache. Toiletries are very cheap also.

    Tip: if you use contact lenses, well, buy them in Thailand! They are soooo cheap and you will easily find your favourite brand!

    If you love to shop like I do, you should take as big bag as you can. It should be empty when you arrive because it's going to be full when it's time to leave this marvellous shopping city.

    Bangkok is always very humid and hot and therefore I recommed to take many t-shirts and strapless tops, shorts and skirts. Great shoes are also essential because the traffic in Bangkok is jammed and I personally prefer to walk in the city. The distances are not so long if you choose an area which you want to explore. If you are going to visit the shopping malls you can prepare to cool air because they are always well air-conditioned. I was freezing in some of the malls and therefore I was carrying the shirt with sleeves with me. Altough you have to remember that you cannot enter into some of the wats f.ex. in strap tops.

    A face water or some kind of atomiser is good to have, because you can cool yourself with it when the heat is on. You can find any kind of toiletries and medicines from Bangkok in cheap prices.

  • Depending on what you would buy.. i ended up taking home 2 bags with me from the initial 1..

    Wear light and loose clothing.. weather here is hot but if you are planning to go to temples and the palace, proper clothing is required.. no short or sexy clothings, proper shoes too.

    Bring along some diarrhea pills just in case your stomach doesnt agree with Thai food.. luckily for me... i had no problems... phew !

    Me and some friends actually wore the clothes we just bought! So, you really needn't bring many. But be sure to chekout Chatuchak!

    I would try to avoid taking just about what you need to get there........ Everything is so cheap (at least for europeans) that its much cheaper to buy there anyway!

    Resort

    I recommend you to bring money, passport and toothbrush.

  • The clothes in Thailand are very cheap. T-shirts cost £1. I took loads of clothes and wished I bought less and bought new clothes out in Thailand. When you go on hols you normally buy new clothes anyway - don't bother. Many of the chemist/shops sell well know shampoo, wouldn't bother packing that. The clothes I did buy wash really well and they sometimes don't need ironing ( Great). Some are better than the clothes I bought in the Uk for £30.

    Hiking

    Make sure you bring stuff for bites. I would buy before you leave. Go to your chemist and get the best.

  • It's better to bring luggage,with 2 soft big bags inside so that after you do all your shopping,you will have enough space to put all your stuff.I usually leave with 2 bags but I come back with 4.hehehe

    Thailand is a very warm and tropical country so you can just move around comfortably in T-shirt,shorts/Jeans.

    Sunglasses are a must!!

    Pack light- you can buy EVERYTHING in Bangkok- and for cheap- even by New Zealand currency standards.JJ (Chatuchak has the best deals).

    Buy it there. SUnglasses are especially cheap and good.
