    Waterproof camera bag

by soundchaseruk Written Mar 4, 2013

Luggage and bags: When you go to Maya Bay you will want to take a camera (obviously) . Most long tails drop you in the water where you swim over to the rope ladder and enter the beach from the back. You need to protect your camera and the best way is to by a waterproof camera bag from the island or before you get to the island

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you take a long tail boat to the islands around phuket you will get drenched just getting there so be prepared and wear simple clothes that can dry out quickly

Photo Equipment: I still don't like to bring Digital SLR Camera in my travels as these cameras as to bulky and cumbersome to operate and you must change the lens often and since I'm not a professional Photographer, prefer to bring a pocket ultrazoom camera that you can combine taking pictures and videos at the same time like an Olympus SZ MR-31 and a water proof camera like the olympus 810 tough for the beach and water sport pictures. Brining point and shoot camera is still the best option for the traveller and having a pocket ultrazoom camera is the best! also bring extra camera batteries and charger as you don't want your camera to lose power while taking photos and videos.

    Clothes for Bangkok

by Arjaree Written Nov 12, 2004

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Prepare yourself for the heat in Bangkok. Its HOT and sunny and it can be humid as well. Anyway, clothes are cheap here so you might not have to bring many.

OK here is something we DONT want to see you wear...boxers. Seen a few men wearing boxers out on the street. They should be fined for doing that..but then again its Thailand, not Singapore.

Something to add: You should bring a few nice clothes for an evening or a night out. Again you can find something cheap here.

Photo Equipment: There are several photo shops around. I dont think you have to worry about this.

    Bring your buddies

    waiting at the airport

Miscellaneous: It's always fun to travel with friends and on this trip, 7 of us bonded pretty well...if not enough because the trip was too short.
The best part of travelling with your buddies who share the same hobby (in this case photography) is being able to share/borrow equipment. You never have to worry about running out of flashcards and batteries...Sensei and Dante always have a spare one handy.

    Small and comfy things!

Luggage and bags: Small luggage and bring the comfortable and you think you can use those clothes when you travel.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Light and comfy ones...

Photo Equipment: Bring you digi cams and back-up memory stick!
