  • This restaurant offer a pleasant dining experience in Bangkok. Not only do the restaurants offer excellent food, but they also promote the safe sex message (an important point in Thailand where AIDS is a problem).

    The world's largest collection of national brand condoms is displayed around the walls and the carpet up the stairs has cartoons of typical condoms for various trades and professions woven into the fabric. Instead of serving after dinner mints, there are bowls of condoms located at the exits just in case.

    The range and quality of food available at the restaurant is excellent, with most of the Thai favourites being on offer as well as regional specialities. The food is prepared so as to be acceptable to foreign palates, but if you want Thai strength spices then either add more from the condiment tray or ask the waiter.

    Associated with the restaurant is the handicraft shop jointly operated with Oxfam. The shop sells a variety of condom related memorabilia, as well as handicrafts like woven silk and carved wooden figurines made in villages. All profits from the store are returned to the villages, and it provides a convenient outlet for many of the traditional and more modern handicrafts produced in Northeast Thailand

    Great selection of local Thai food. I can't narrow it down to one particular favourite.

  • The food was amazing. Not normally into themed restaurants, but this is different. As the name suggests this restaurant promotes safe sex. We sat in the covered terrace area. Happy buzzy atmosphere. Worth treating yourself too. After dinner mints a bit chewy (condoms).

    Since I have only eaten there once hard to say. But the stir fried chicken with cashew nuts and dried chilli was yummy.

  • supported and endorsed by the government, cabbages and condoms offers thai food at fairly reasonable prices amidst a charming backdrop. here, the restaurant is surrounded by lush greenery and a wall/waterfall feature..there's also a shop selling all things gimmicky associated with the humble condom.

    i ordered fried rice noodles. not so good.

    Set up by the advocate for safe sex in Thailand, Mr Meechai has had a great deal of success with this restaurant. The most intersting point is your departure when you are free to help yourself to a selection of free condoms. Mr Meechai's way of spreading the word about safe sex.

  • This restaurant was so nice and has a very special atmosphere, dont mistake by its name.... nothing derty here ...lol.
    When you enter the place you don't even realize you get into a restaurant until you are inside and then its just lovely, especially if you eat outside, that is the big fun, oh yes.... and the food is just great and as usual in Thailand very cheap.
    Very Very special atmosphere, try it .

    This restaurant is run by Thailand's Population and Community Development Association, believes "birth control should be as cheap as vegetables"—hence the restaurant's name! There is plenty of room, inside and outside in the garden, which is nice if the weather permits. An extensive variety of cocktails and other drinks is available at the "Vasectomy Bar," and the service is friendly and efficient. This is a great choice for good quality Thai food, albeit in slightly surreal surroundings (especially the walls covered with condoms from across the globe!). (Information by Wcities)
