Pan Pan: Mid Range Local Style Italian on Lang Suan
Cheap pizzas where it is guaranteed the lasses will get your order wrong. So a surprise with every meal.
This tends to be more of a shovel something in with your mates from work when you don’t want to be messing around with posh nosh. A lunchtime or an evening "fuel up before you kick on" sort of place.
Standard pizzas and pastas, and a few Thairiations on the toppings, and chilli levels. Pizza when you want Dominoes or Pizza Hut prices but you don’t want to sit in an international bland sausage machine environment. Don’t worry too much about the service, they try their best!
And there are usually groups of Thais in there having a ball and enjoying eating together...
Pan Pan: to "Pan" in English means to criticize
An Italian restaurant should have a name like "Marios" or "Angelos" which should have been my first clue to not eat here. Nothing "Italian" about this place - no checkered table cloths, no
empty wine bottles with candles in them, no Italian ambience at all. The soup, described as minestrone, was actually a cabbage soup and tasteless. The pasta was undercooked - why ? when a child can cook pasta. No bread basket offered or served, no butter, service very slow
and prices very high for what you got. We actually ate more, outside this restaurant, from a 30 B food cart on the street ! Yes, the Thai clientele seemed to enjoy the food but then, what do Thais know about Italian food ? It has been weeks since our visit but I still have not forgiven my companion for recomending this "wanna be Italian" eatery.
I must add the fact that I owned/operated 3 Italian restaurants in the US. The lowest cost, bad neighborhood , no parking nearby, place was head and shoulders above this make believe Italian place.
Favorite Dish: Favorite dish " You must be joking ! Everything we ordered, and viewed others ordering, was really, really, bad.
