Wife and I had dinner here in August. Everything was amazing. The view, the food, the service; all excellent. As soon as you near the elevator inside the State Tower, there is someone there to guide you to the correct floor and location. Once you reach the 65th (or 64th?) there is another person waiting to guide you outside to the restaraunt. And so on. All the personnel working at Sirocco speak perfect english. I also overheard them speaking passable Japanese and Chinese. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I took of my coat to hang on the back of my chair, before I could there was someone their with a coat hanger. Everytime my wife or I stood up or sat down, there was someone helping with the chair. But we never noticed anyone around until then. Our server did an excellent job recommending a wine pairing with our food. (A nice Chilean Cab.)
My wife and I had a bottle of wine ($100), two appetizers, main courses, and shared dessert for about $300. Fairly steep for us, but well worth it. Reservations are a must. Also, advise dressing accordingly. Dont be that guy, or that girl, or that couple. Also, the Skybar is pretty neat, though a bit touristy with all the people taking pictures and so forth.
Around 8:00 pm the jazz band with an excellent singer played on the balocony overlooking the restaraunt. This paired with the view, excellent decor and lighting, made for an extremely romantic setting.
I highly recommend Sirocco to anyone visiting Bangkok, if it is with the price range you wish to pay.

In contrast to many of the reviews the quality of the food was excellent and could not be faulted.
From the moment that we entered the building, the excellent service was noticeable - so many greeters we lost count.
The service was attentive and very knowledgeable and the sommelier gave the impression of knowing his stuff.
The ambience, the setting and the views make this one of the romantic restaurants that I have been to.
The band on the platform overlooking the dining area hit exactly the right notes and were not intrusive in any way.
However, it was terribly expensive and the prices on the wine list were outrageous.
For a meal for two with a bottle of recommended wine (which was neither one of the cheapest nor one of the most expensive on the wine list) came in the reqion of THB19,000 - and we skipped dessert because we were so full.
If it were not for the romatic setting, I would recommend this restaurant only for those on expense accounts.
Make sure that you make an advance booking, and just like all upmarket restaurants ensure that you re-confirm your reservation on the day of you booking.
Favorite Dish: The braised lamb shank with goats cheese mash is just what I needed.

Sirocco's view of Bangkok is nothing less than spectacular. The restaurant is located 65 stories above the intersection of Silom and Charoen Krung Roads, overseeing the Chao Phraya River, and offering an unblocked view of the heart of the city. A stylish bar and a first-rate jazz combo contribute to the overall ambience. Despite the view, Sirocco's claim to be Bangkok's leading western restaurant doesn't apply to the food and service. The food, on a Mediterranean theme, is nothing to write home about, although very expensive, and the service is of a decidedly local standard. Securing confirmed reservations, particularly during the high season, can be a frustrating experience. I was unable to get reservations for any night between December 26 and 31 in 2006, although I called three weeks in advance. Suggestions: reconfirm reservations more than once and - if you are familiar with the restaurant layout, specify the table you want. (Some tables have inferior views). To sum up, its the view you are paying for, and the view is worth the cost.

Being at Sirocco is an experience. It's located at the top of the Dome building in Silom. The whole restaurant is outdoors and is lovely on a clear night. There is a bar at one end that has tables right by the edge. Don't worry about dropping your drink off a table, they have small nets under the glass ledges by the bar. But i still wouldn't try it. The food is good. The main courses were excellent. My husband had the lamb and i the beef. The desserts were not so good, that i remember. They do have a dessert buffet in the middle of the restaurant, but we went for a la carte.
Overall, it's a great place for a romantic dinner and not for anyone that has fear of heights. If you are nervous about heights and still want to go, you can get a table in the middle of the restaurant or near the bathrooms.
It's a very expensive restaurant. I ordered a glass of champagne without looking at the prices and was shocked at how expensive it was. Reminded me of being back in New York City.
If you just want to come for the experience, then just grab a drink by the bar. The view is stunning!

Ok, I have traveled the world many times, but I have never in my life had such a great view eating dinner like I had at this restaurant, located on the 65 floor of the State tower on Silom Rd. Just the view is worth the trip to this restaurant. The service was poor for such high end place, not rude, but just not attentive given the fame that this restaurant has gather in the world since it's opening !!!! The food has everything you could think of, fresh seafood, great steaks, and a desert table to die for.....oh did I mention the view !!!!
A live band with a soul singer was pleasant touch as we ate !!!! afterwards she came down and introduced herself and spoke to us for a couple of minutes !!! Afterwards stick around and have drinks at the ultra cool bar, drinks run from 200 bahts about $5 US dollars to 20,000 bahts about $500 US dollars for Cristal Champagne. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!!!!! If it wasn't for the poor table serivce; this place would get a 10 out of 10 but I'll give it 9 out of 10 !!!!!!!
Favorite Dish: Had a Austrailian lamb chops, to die for, perfectly cooked, and selected the desert buffet.....ate soooo much had a stomach ache after !!!!! ha,ha,ha
