This will be my restaurant tips on the World Famouse Sirocco Restaurant and Sky Bar at the Lebua at State Tower. The Setting of the Hangover II Movie.
like in Vertigo Restaurant of the Banyan Tree Hotel, the Attire here at Sirocco Restaurant and Sky bar is SMART CASUAL with no athletic gear or shorts or flip flops allowed.
The Sirocco Restaurant and Skybar was the favorite of the big spending tourists and locals since the early 2000's when it opened but it's popularity Skyrocketed when the Movie Hangover II was made partly in this location! Both the Restaurant has overflow crowds every night and the spill over crowd is left at the Distil Bar and Lounge, located just one floor above the grand flight of stairs (where the stars of the Hangover II had their iconic picture taken) and sorry, they don't allow picture taking at the stairs! They have a live jazz band and singers playing at the top from 7:30 pm to 12:00 am. The Sky Bar and the Sirocco Restaurant is located side by side but only in the restaurant that you need advanced reservations (at least two weeks in advance). The priced of the drinks and meals here are Sky High like the chef's tasting menu will cost 150 US Dollars per person without the drinks and the beers and cocktails will cost more then 400 baht per bottle or glass.
Opens: 6:00 pm to 1:00 am (both Sirocco Restaurant and Sky Bar).
• Listed under 'Hot Tables' & 'Hot Night' by Conde Nast Traveler, 2005

Favorite Dish: The Chef Tasting Menu which is a 7 course affair with dessert is at 150 US Dollars per person (excluding the service charge and sales tax) and the drinks are separate. Ala Carte Meals start at 60 US Dollars for Jumbo Prawn or $ 80 for the Alaskan Seared Sea Scallop, Maine Lobster at 120 US dollars an order and Tenderloin Wagyu Steak at 160 US Dollars an order. the prices of the drinks here is astronomical so that if you are a back packer, then forget it! a bottle of Chang beer is at 390 baht, Asahi beer at 420 baht, Tiger beer at 440 baht, San Miguel beer at 430 Baht. the specialty cocktails like the Hangovertini, Velvet, Distil or Black Pearl at 570 baht a glass and regular cocktails loke mai thai, pina colada, screwdriver or tom collins at 450 to 550 baht a glass
according to their website:
A romantic dinner cannot be any better, with the sun setting or starry sky and the evening lights adding to the heightened lovely atmosphere. If you are looking for a business dinner to end a round of successful meetings and deals, Sirocco sure stands out towering above other locations. It will be a memorable dinner for your business partners, associates, clients and suppliers – dining under the sky before adjourning to the Skybar for a few drinks.
Located on the 63rd floor of The Dome at lebua, Sirocco is the world's highest al fresco restaurant and one of Bangkok's most coveted dining choices. It never fails to leave one mesmerized with a breathtaking view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river, an amazing Skybar and quality Mediterranean fare with ingredients from the world's best markets. Live jazz music featuring vocalists of international repute, adds to its captivating ambiance for a perfect evening.
Sirocco is the world's largest and highest open air bar and restaurant, located on the 64th floor of the State Tower. The view on 3/4 of Bangkok from this bar is really amazing, especially during nights. This bar, open daily until 1 am, has to be visited, while being in Bangkok.
The suggestion is to go there for a drink at sunset, but not to stay there for dinner, as the prices are absolutely crazy!!!
Pictures are allowed ONLY at the bar, which is actually not the best point to take them... so be discreet in order to take pics also from other places of the club.
Favorite Dish: Cocktails are really good, mohito above all (but be ready to spend 1'000 bath...)
Wife and I had dinner here in August. Everything was amazing. The view, the food, the service; all excellent. As soon as you near the elevator inside the State Tower, there is someone there to guide you to the correct floor and location. Once you reach the 65th (or 64th?) there is another person waiting to guide you outside to the restaraunt. And so on. All the personnel working at Sirocco speak perfect english. I also overheard them speaking passable Japanese and Chinese. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I took of my coat to hang on the back of my chair, before I could there was someone their with a coat hanger. Everytime my wife or I stood up or sat down, there was someone helping with the chair. But we never noticed anyone around until then. Our server did an excellent job recommending a wine pairing with our food. (A nice Chilean Cab.)
My wife and I had a bottle of wine ($100), two appetizers, main courses, and shared dessert for about $300. Fairly steep for us, but well worth it. Reservations are a must. Also, advise dressing accordingly. Dont be that guy, or that girl, or that couple. Also, the Skybar is pretty neat, though a bit touristy with all the people taking pictures and so forth.
Around 8:00 pm the jazz band with an excellent singer played on the balocony overlooking the restaraunt. This paired with the view, excellent decor and lighting, made for an extremely romantic setting.
I highly recommend Sirocco to anyone visiting Bangkok, if it is with the price range you wish to pay.
Favorite Dish: Tuna tartar
In contrast to many of the reviews the quality of the food was excellent and could not be faulted.
From the moment that we entered the building, the excellent service was noticeable - so many greeters we lost count.
The service was attentive and very knowledgeable and the sommelier gave the impression of knowing his stuff.
The ambience, the setting and the views make this one of the romantic restaurants that I have been to.
The band on the platform overlooking the dining area hit exactly the right notes and were not intrusive in any way.
However, it was terribly expensive and the prices on the wine list were outrageous.
For a meal for two with a bottle of recommended wine (which was neither one of the cheapest nor one of the most expensive on the wine list) came in the reqion of THB19,000 - and we skipped dessert because we were so full.
If it were not for the romatic setting, I would recommend this restaurant only for those on expense accounts.
Make sure that you make an advance booking, and just like all upmarket restaurants ensure that you re-confirm your reservation on the day of you booking.
Favorite Dish: The braised lamb shank with goats cheese mash is just what I needed.
Sirocco's view of Bangkok is nothing less than spectacular. The restaurant is located 65 stories above the intersection of Silom and Charoen Krung Roads, overseeing the Chao Phraya River, and offering an unblocked view of the heart of the city. A stylish bar and a first-rate jazz combo contribute to the overall ambience. Despite the view, Sirocco's claim to be Bangkok's leading western restaurant doesn't apply to the food and service. The food, on a Mediterranean theme, is nothing to write home about, although very expensive, and the service is of a decidedly local standard. Securing confirmed reservations, particularly during the high season, can be a frustrating experience. I was unable to get reservations for any night between December 26 and 31 in 2006, although I called three weeks in advance. Suggestions: reconfirm reservations more than once and - if you are familiar with the restaurant layout, specify the table you want. (Some tables have inferior views). To sum up, its the view you are paying for, and the view is worth the cost.
Being at Sirocco is an experience. It's located at the top of the Dome building in Silom. The whole restaurant is outdoors and is lovely on a clear night. There is a bar at one end that has tables right by the edge. Don't worry about dropping your drink off a table, they have small nets under the glass ledges by the bar. But i still wouldn't try it. The food is good. The main courses were excellent. My husband had the lamb and i the beef. The desserts were not so good, that i remember. They do have a dessert buffet in the middle of the restaurant, but we went for a la carte.
Overall, it's a great place for a romantic dinner and not for anyone that has fear of heights. If you are nervous about heights and still want to go, you can get a table in the middle of the restaurant or near the bathrooms.
It's a very expensive restaurant. I ordered a glass of champagne without looking at the prices and was shocked at how expensive it was. Reminded me of being back in New York City.
If you just want to come for the experience, then just grab a drink by the bar. The view is stunning!
WHEN PLANNING YOUR NEXT TRIP TO BANGKOK AND ARE THINKING OF TREATING THAT SOMEONE SPECIAL TO A MEAL IN A VERY SPECIAL PLACE THEN GIVE SIROCCO A TRY.
FOR LOCATION AND VIEWS THIS PLACE IS VERY HARD TO BEAT, ANY PICTURES YOU SEE OF SIROCCO WILL NEVER DO IT JUSTICE...YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE THERE HIGH ON THE 64TH FLOOR OUT IN THE OPEN AIR IN THE SKY BAR DRINK IN HAND LOOKING OUT OVER THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF BANGKOK FAR BELOW. THIS PLACE IS VERY VERY CHIC YOU REALLY ARE MIXING IT WITH THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE HERE AND PAYING THE PRICE FOR IT..TAKE IT FROM ME THIS PLACE IS NOT CHEAP NOT BY BANGKOK PRICES ANYWAY AND THE FOOD IS GOOD...YEP JUST GOOD, NOTHING FANTASTIC BUT NICE ALL THE SAME BUT HERE THE VIEWS THE DRINKS AND THE COMPANY IS KING...SO HAVE A NICE MEAL ORDER ANOTHER FEW DRINKS AND ENJOY THE FANTASTIC VIEWS AS THE JAZZ BAND PLAYS AND DONT GIVE THE BILL ANOTHER THOUGHT...SO FOR A HIGH RISE TREAT SIROCCO IS THE PLACE TO BE SEEN AND THE PLACE TO SEE BANGKOK...
Favorite Dish: I HAD GOOD OLD STEAK AND MY WIFE HAD SALMON.

p/s. dress code ~ no sandal no backpack, no sleeveless & short for guys
Ok, I have traveled the world many times, but I have never in my life had such a great view eating dinner like I had at this restaurant, located on the 65 floor of the State tower on Silom Rd. Just the view is worth the trip to this restaurant. The service was poor for such high end place, not rude, but just not attentive given the fame that this restaurant has gather in the world since it's opening !!!! The food has everything you could think of, fresh seafood, great steaks, and a desert table to die for.....oh did I mention the view !!!!
A live band with a soul singer was pleasant touch as we ate !!!! afterwards she came down and introduced herself and spoke to us for a couple of minutes !!! Afterwards stick around and have drinks at the ultra cool bar, drinks run from 200 bahts about $5 US dollars to 20,000 bahts about $500 US dollars for Cristal Champagne. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!!!!! If it wasn't for the poor table serivce; this place would get a 10 out of 10 but I'll give it 9 out of 10 !!!!!!!
Favorite Dish: Had a Austrailian lamb chops, to die for, perfectly cooked, and selected the desert buffet.....ate soooo much had a stomach ache after !!!!! ha,ha,ha
