Spice Market: Luxurious dining for moderate prices
The Spice Market is located on the ground floor of the Four Seasons Hotel. My fiancee read about it in some Korean fashion magazine and asked me to go there. Being a little reluctant at first ("Four Seasons Hotel?!") I soon indulged in the outstanding service, good and well-prepared food as well as cosy atmosphere, the latter being the theme of a typical oriental spice market with sacks of spices on shelves and large jars and weighing scales as decor.
The menu offered a wide choice of Thai-style food with spicy and non-spicy dishes, graded by little chilly-symbols that indicate the level of spiciness.
The prices were, considering the location, extremely moderate. Though probably being more expensive than the average Thai tourist restaurant, it was still far away from being overpriced. For two fresh juices, one appetizer and two main dishes we paid 1300 Baht including tax and service charge.
A very nice way to end your stay in Bangkok...

We had read about this restaurant in one of the guide books so took a taxi to the Four Seasons hotel to try for ourselves. On arrival at the hotel our taxi was greeted by a Thai gentleman in pinstripes and dress coat who escorted us to the restaurant inside this amazing hotel. The decor of the restaurant was perfect..a typical spice market, in an old teak room with sacks of spices on shelves and large jars and weighing scales all added to the atmosphere. Good service and polite staff made the evening. If you go have coffee in the hotel lounge after. Such an elegant place with the most beautiful Thai waitresses in national dress Ive ever seen
Favorite Dish: We had been warned about fiery Thai food but were pleasantly surprised by the delicate flavours of the dishes we had ordered, until we tried the snow peas nestling in the rice! WOW they took our heads off they were so hot, so with tears streaming down our faces and throats closing we quickly ordered cooling desserts. A young green coconut cut into the shape of a little hut and filled with coconut ice cream was just what we needed...and so delicious
