The restaurant is located on the western side of the famous Chao Phraya River in one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods near Wat Rakhang and Patravadi Theatre.
Nice place and great food, dinner is recommended!!!
The experience begins with a very short trip across the river on a 1930s style river boat from Maharaj Pier to the restaurant.
The service throughout is spectacular as is the food.
If you ask, a waiter will accompany you back on the boat to fetch a cab for you.
By European standards the prices are ridiculously cheap. My wife paid the last time we visited and when her credit card bill came in it had cost her about £18 for both of us (~$30).
Favorite Dish: So many to choose from! If I have too choose one it would probably be the warm beef salad.
Standing on the Chaophraya riverbank, night view from the place is just wonderful!! You can enjoy all the light ups on Grand Palance and other temples on one side, and Pin Klao bridge on the other. So I definately recommend you to take seats outside!! This is the traditional Thai restaurant and the price is reasonable for the place.. But don't go for the set. Just choose some dishes from a la carte!
Favorite Dish: Well when we went there last time, we ordered Pak Bun (stir fried morning glory), Tom Kha Gai (Tom Yam Khun soup with coconut milk), Plar Kha Pon (deep fried sea bass), Yum Som Oh (grape fruit salad) and a couple more.. It costed us around 1500 baht for 4 people with some beer -didn't drink much, though.
Definitely upscale. Owned by a wealth Bangkok family. Right next to the Chao Praya river on the Thonburi side across from the Maharaj pier. Great atmosphere - you can sit either inside in air con or outdoors on the patio. Heavy utensils! A class place with food Thais find excellent so you know it is good. Sit outside and enjoy sites and sounds of river traffic flowing by, but it is still peaceful and relaxing.
Favorite Dish: You name it - i would anything on the menu off the floor of the dirtiest restaurant in the city and it would still be like sugar on my tongue.
