Siam Center was a place where teenagers came to hang out with friends.

It was one of the very first shopping center in Bangkok.

Nowaday, it is still a place where the young and young-at-heart go for trendy fashions.

Top local fashion designers and brand name labels can be found here.

Many restaurant can be found here too.

Siam Discovery Center is situated at Pathumwan intersection, one of the busiest shopping and leisure area in Bangkok, next to National Stadium Sky Train BTS station.

Located on the 6th and 7th floor of Siam Discovery Center is Grand EGV, the most comfortable, grandiose and up-to-date movie theater in Thailand.

Grand EGV also has a 1,600 sq.m. of retail spaces called 'Movie Walk'. The area provides the space for over 50 retail stores under the 'Movie Art Gallery Theme'.

Siam Center / Siam Discovery Center: Buying Cheap clothes after dark

What do you do after 930 pm when the shops closed?

Hang around the Siam Central Station and you will see (by 945pm) weekends there will be a whole bunch of Thai people selling their wares on the foot of the Station.

Loads of clothes and... you probably struggle to get good price speaking in English/Thai!

    Update Sep 06
There is a chance that this is no longer an in thing as around the vicinity, there is a major shopping complex here~ Paragon. If you are really a night bird, there are some interesting things on offer on Suk Road from Nana Station BTS to Asoke Station BTS. We stumble on some interesting wares and trinkets one night at 12pm - 1am.

What to buy: Nice cheap Thai clothes and accessories

What to pay: Bargain Bargain please

In this huge Mall you can find many fast food chains, cafes, fashion shops, in a very western style. There is a direct access from the BTS (Siam Station) and around it you can find many other big magazines and other shops...
    A shopping paradise!

With only one street across MBK Center, the shops here in Siam Center are very much different from those in MBK. It feature branded clothing, fashion boutiques and accessories, and restaurants. Besides world labels, you can find some local designers here, such as Soda Shop, Jaspal, and A-Z. Undergarments are cheap here. Wacoal is selling 60% off HK prices plus more styles to choose from here.

Siam Center / Siam Discovery Center: Hot Top Shop

by RoyJava Updated Apr 4, 2011

Siam Paragon may be hot, expensive and trendy, just next to it are the "twins" Siam Center - Siam Discovery Center, also hot, trendy and not that expensive! The Siam Center used to be the first shopping centre of Bangkok, where young kids met eachother. You still see young Thais around making fun and dressed up with such a multiracial style and taste. It's inspiring trust, and it is really great to shop around Siam Center - Siam Discovery Center. Busy shopping! And Sky Train BTS station very close to the place!

What to buy: Siam Center is done by the youngsters, though it is fun for all of us! I love to go here for the design clothes, and compare them to the hot items on street. I still go back to this one, because I once had some phantastic trousers of Comme Des Garcons in Siam Center. Never found it again ... snobby me!

Siam Discovery Center is some moderner and more clear, each floor gots its own theme. You like trendy hot items, fashion hits, artistic accessories, and souvenirs in all kind of matters? Make your entry here with both of the twins!

What to pay: Oow,... it depends... sale, bargains, haggle, we keep in business huh?

Siam Center and Siam Discovery Center are twin shopping malls in Pathum Wan district, Bangkok. A skybridge connects the fourth floor of Siam Center with Siam Discovery. A courtyard between the two malls is often host to concerts and special events.

    Siam Center: Was Expecting More

I was rather dissapointed by the Siam Centre. I'd liked what I'd heard about it prior to visiting, but to be honest there really wasn't much there. It wasn't particularly bad, just that it was the same few stores that you'd find anywhwhere else, and I was actually a little surprised by how few store there were, considering the size of the place. Unfortunately the age is beinning to show.

Siam Center and Siam Discovery Center

by Pomska Updated Aug 8, 2005

If you want to find trendy shops for younger people, you should visit Siam Center. It has 120 shops for four floors. There you can find clothes, shoes, music, silk, leather and interior shops. Especially young Thais is said to be hanging and shopping there. It is at Rama 1, near Siam Square.

If you like Siam Center, you would like Siam Discovery Center even more. It's a modern mall next to Siam Center. Each of it's floors has an own thema, for example lowest floors are for women, third is for men, forth is for home decoration and freetime and the fifth is for children. There are some great shops, for example GAP, Nine West and Boots. At the upstairs is couple of cinemas. You can find it at Rima 1.

Siam Center / Siam Discovery Center: Posh and occidental but not so cheap.

by Nemoa Updated Apr 4, 2011

Most of your favourite clothes shops and brand are here.

Not at bargain prices normally, but they have got quite a lot of promotions, sales and so on, so it is good to have a good look.

It is also interesting to observe the local scene. This is one of the favourite shopping centres of your Thais so you get to see what they do, where they eat and what they wear.

What to buy: High street brands

What to pay: All sorts of prices, really. Depends where you go.

the Siam Center Complex actually has 3 separate malls in the complex, the largest is the Siam Paragon Mall, where most of the upscale shops are located and where it is connected to the BTS Skytrain Siam Station. The Middle Mall is the Siam Center and the farthest Mall, which is across the MBK Mall in Pathumwan and is nearer to the National Stadium BTS Skytrain Station is the Siam Discovery Center. The shops here are a combination of Local Thai and international brands but is more catered to the young and middle aged market as the shops here are hip like la coste, Kenneth Cole, Diesel and more. They have no food court as the big food court and food hall is located at Siam Paragon. Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum Bangkok is located at the 6th floor of the mall.

hours: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm everyday

What to buy: all the items you want if you are young and middle aged and brands like La Coste, Guess? Kenneth Cole, Karen Millen, DKNY, Diesel and Pleats Please by Issey Miyake, Shiseido, Mac, Swarovski, iStudio, and many more.

Siam Paragon Houses the more upscale brands like Burberry, Hermes, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Bally, Balenciaga and more.

What to pay: depends on what you will buy.
