It was one of the very first shopping center in Bangkok.
Nowaday, it is still a place where the young and young-at-heart go for trendy fashions.

Siam Discovery Center is situated at Pathumwan intersection, one of the busiest shopping and leisure area in Bangkok, next to National Stadium Sky Train BTS station.
Located on the 6th and 7th floor of Siam Discovery Center is Grand EGV, the most comfortable, grandiose and up-to-date movie theater in Thailand.
Grand EGV also has a 1,600 sq.m. of retail spaces called 'Movie Walk'. The area provides the space for over 50 retail stores under the 'Movie Art Gallery Theme'.
What do you do after 930 pm when the shops closed?
Hang around the Siam Central Station and you will see (by 945pm) weekends there will be a whole bunch of Thai people selling their wares on the foot of the Station.
Loads of clothes and... you probably struggle to get good price speaking in English/Thai!

There is a chance that this is no longer an in thing as around the vicinity, there is a major shopping complex here~ Paragon. If you are really a night bird, there are some interesting things on offer on Suk Road from Nana Station BTS to Asoke Station BTS. We stumble on some interesting wares and trinkets one night at 12pm - 1am.

In this huge Mall you can find many fast food chains, cafes, fashion shops, in a very western style. There is a direct access from the BTS (Siam Station) and around it you can find many other big magazines and other shops...
A shopping paradise!
With only one street across MBK Center, the shops here in Siam Center are very much different from those in MBK. It feature branded clothing, fashion boutiques and accessories, and restaurants. Besides world labels, you can find some local designers here, such as Soda Shop, Jaspal, and A-Z. Undergarments are cheap here. Wacoal is selling 60% off HK prices plus more styles to choose from here.
Siam Paragon may be hot, expensive and trendy, just next to it are the "twins" Siam Center - Siam Discovery Center, also hot, trendy and not that expensive! The Siam Center used to be the first shopping centre of Bangkok, where young kids met eachother. You still see young Thais around making fun and dressed up with such a multiracial style and taste. It's inspiring trust, and it is really great to shop around Siam Center - Siam Discovery Center. Busy shopping! And Sky Train BTS station very close to the place!

Siam Center is done by the youngsters, though it is fun for all of us! I love to go here for the design clothes, and compare them to the hot items on street. I still go back to this one, because I once had some phantastic trousers of Comme Des Garcons in Siam Center. Never found it again ... snobby me!

I was rather dissapointed by the Siam Centre. I'd liked what I'd heard about it prior to visiting, but to be honest there really wasn't much there. It wasn't particularly bad, just that it was the same few stores that you'd find anywhwhere else, and I was actually a little surprised by how few store there were, considering the size of the place. Unfortunately the age is beinning to show.

A skybridge connects the fourth floor of Siam Center with Siam Discovery. A courtyard between the two malls is often host to concerts and special events. Additionally, a skybridge from the Skytrain's National Stadium station and MBK Center connects to Siam Discovery.

Siam Center has four floors which contains about 300 shops, 20 restaurants and a food court. There are a number of clothing boutiques with outfits designed for nubile bodies. A substantial spread of camera and mobile accessory shops - essential to the digitally enlightened generation can be found here too. Cute jewellery and all the paraphernalia that signifies coolness, can be found throughout. Speciality stores feature shoes, hair accessories and sexy underwear.
What to pay:
Cinema tickets at Siam Discovery are often a little more expensive, but the seats are extremely comfortable. Siam Center has older shops, and tends to have cheaper prices than Siam Discovery center.
