At Siam Square (adjoining to Siam Skytrain Station), there a signboard "IT Gateway". Upon entering at the same level with the skytrain station public area, there rows and rows of shops selling cameras, it products and accessories.
This is one time when I wish I'm all by myself and have, at least, 1/2 day to shop around. Because we were going (rushing) to another location, we had a brief window shopping and was impressed by it (though not as big as Sim Lim Square, Singapore - back home country).
What to buy:
Electronics stuff including cameras, computer accessories, etc.
Siam Centre
Come here to shop, to souvenir hunt, to people watch.

Siam Square is a shopping and entertainment area in Bangkok, Thailand. Within Siam Square itself, there is a wide range of shops and services, including tutor schools, restaurants, cafe, designer clothing boutiques, record stores, bookshops, Hard Rock Cafe and banks.
Siam Square would like to be the Times Square of Bangkok, and it does a pretty good job. Despite the name this is in fact a warren of small sois filled with tiny shops and restaurants.
Unique pieces, cheap prices.
What to buy:
Everything and anything.
What to pay:
Depends on what you are buying. You can find designer bags (copies) for 2500 - 4000 Baht. Or buy the more unusual, which everyone wears there, for between 400 - 900 Baht.
This is hot top! GATEAU HOUSE is nothing less than a home-made bakery and got into the chain of leading Thai-owned bakeries. I think there must be about 50 Gateaux House shops and Siam Square was one of the first. They have the best-in-town sweetnesses, chocolate and bread and scrape, as we name a wonderful delicious toppings on a bun.
What to buy:
So hard to point at one the most delicious sweets ... try the creampuffs filled with creamy pandan leaves custarded flavour. Looks green like the Hulk, but it is >>>
D E L I C I O U S ! ! !
Maybe a burnt cream Gateaux with chocolate, or cheese. And point at a bun that makes you lick your chops! Just try, there are miscellanies of pork meat, chicken, fish ...
What to pay:
Not that much, about 20 - 40 THB for one protion or bun
If you want to know what the young and trendy are into fashion-wise, the Siam Square shops are the place to be! It's fun enough people-watching here, but the alley after alley of quaint little shops are quite inspiring and exhilarating to shoppers of hot, new fashions. Feel free to haggle - even on sale items! Haggling is part of the fun. Just be nice and smile while you're haggling. Shops are open from just before lunchtime to 8PM.
What to buy:
Fun women's clothing and accessories - a mix of locally produced and imported goods. Young designers' clothing. Vintage clothing.
What to pay:
You can find a lot of real bargains but there are also shops for Thai young designers that charge quite a bit more than other places selling local goods. However, you ARE paying for the creativity and the artistry of these young desigers so their prices are understandable.
