    Thai Open Tennis Tournament

by Aquacraig Written Jun 25, 2007

The Thai open tennis tournament is played in SEPTEMBER at the Impact Arena and convention centre at Muang Thon Thani. This is about 30 minutes by taxi from the centre of Bangkok.

If you are in BKK in September why not go along and watch the stars! Cheaper than Wimbledon and a much better complex!

Equipment: There is an addidas shop within a 5 minute walk from the Impact Arena. Just ask someone at the Arena for directions. Here you will find genuine addidas at much cheaper prices than Australia.

    Tennis: The Thailand Open

by xuessium Written Oct 22, 2005

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Part of the International Series, the Thailand Open is held during late September/early October every year and since its inception into the ATP Tour schedule, it has managed to draw some big names to the event: Roger Federer, the current World No.1 (Sep 2005) defended his title successfully. Previous No.1s Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt, Juan Carlos Ferrero & Carlos Moya had also made appearances alongside Tommy Haas, Taylor Dent (the inaugural champion in 2003) and local hero Paradorn Srichaphan.

Good chance to see some top notch tennis in action.

The event is held at the Impact Arena, an indoor stadium rather close to the current Don Muang Airport.

Note: This year, the Thailand Open also had a women's tournament, a brand new event on the WTA Tour, just 2 weeks after the men's tournament.
