It is certainly worth going to the Baiyoke Sky Hotel and up to the 77th floor to the Observation Deck, as well as fantastic views there are multi media kiosks, telescopes and all the info on the building of the hotel.

There is also a revolving viewing deck with great photo opportunities on the 84th floor, this is Thailand's first open air viewing deck which is located on the highest floor of the building.

The Baiyoke Tower opened in 1998 and the building is 309 meters high. If you were to walk the 2060 steps from bottom to top it would take you more than an hour to reach the top. The pilings run 60 meters deep underground or about the height of a 22 storey building.

We had the seafood buffet dinner at the Bangkok Sky Restaurant on the 76th floor, this was 690baht which also includes admission to the observation deck and revolving view point. I will do a separate review on the restaurant, it was worth every baht!

Baiyoke Sky Tower

The highest building in Bangkok (not for long time - is coming another one highest in some years) and the 28-highest building (this number was for the year 2007) in the world. Baiyoke II Tower have 304 meter high and 85 floors. I took from here great photos to Bangkok from the last one floor, also you can see all Bangkok. The ticket when I've been here the last time was: 200 Baht.

Museum in Baiyoke II Tower

Baiyoke II Sky Tower opened in 1998 and it is the tallest building (with 304 meters) in Thailand. In the last floor located a small museum about Thai culture.

Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok:
The Baiyoke Tower was opened in 1998.
This building is 309 metres tall or about the height of 182 people standing one on top of the other.

There are 1,740 windowpanes in the building. About the same number of windowpanes can be used for over 200 townhouses.

The area inside this building is about 30 football fields.

There are altogether 2,060 steps from the bottom to the top. It takes more than one hour to reach the top.

The piling runs 60 metres deep underground or about the height of a 22 storey building.

Go up the lift from the lobby to the 77th floor. There is another lift to the 83rd floor for the revolving deck on the 84th floor

The Bangkok Observation is located at the top of Baiyoke Sky, the tallest tower in the Kingdom of Thailand. On a clear day you can apparently see as far as the coastline. It is a great place to watch all the traffic jams on the streets below.

The day we visited was cloudy so views were limited but it was still an enjoyable trip.

Getting Up There:
If you are at the ground floor of the building I strongly recommend you take the glass elevator behind the ticket booth to the 77th floor. The elevator is on the outside of the building and it offers amazing views of the city as you are taken up to the observation deck

If you are at the parking lot, take the elevator down to the ground floor and then follow the instructions above. The view is far better than taking an elevator up from the parking lot.

The place claims to be "the World's Tallest Hotel", and from what I've seen, maybe it is.

When traveling, it is always good to find a view point to see a panoramic view of a city or region.

In Bangkok this place is the Bayoke Sky Hotel.

You can have a nice dinner on the 76th or 78th floor and then go up to the open rotating area almost on the roof and have a look at the huge city!

How to see Bangkok from above? Well, short of hiring a helicopter for a day, try the 84th storey high observatory floor of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel.

The building is 309m tall (or about 182 people standing on top of each other). If you find taking the lift a hassle, try the 2060 steps instead for a 1 hour climb. Do not worry about not seeing the view, the building has 1740 window panes. Less you worry about earthquakes, the piling of the tower runs 65m deep underground (~22 storey building) and the inside of the building occupies an area of 179400 square meters (or about 80 soccer fields).

Look for the ticket booth at the entrance of the Hotel. There is a separate lift you'll take to reach the apex. The first stop: the 77th storey for a quick browse through some exhibits and drown yourself in statistics. Connect to another lift, and you'll be on your merry way to the 83rd where you'll get to walk around an air-conned observatory area (and maybe buy a souvenir) before going for the real thing: the rotating observatory on the 84th in open air.

After you're done spinning around, hop back to the 83rd, hunt for the rooftop bar to claim a free drink (anything on the menus for 200 Bahts or less), take some breathers before you go right back out to conquer BKK again.

The Baiyoke Sky Hotel has an amazing, rotating viewing deck up on the 84th floor! There is also a regular viewing deck on the 77th floor which we did not go to. Opened Daily from 10:30am to 11pm on weekdays and from 9:30am to 11pm on weekends.

I'm not sure what the cost is if you just want to go up to the viewing decks. You would have to pay for it on the ground level as you cannot enter the elevators unless you show your receipt. We dined at Stella's Palace for dinner which they allowed us up to the viewing decks at no extra cost.

The Views are just amazing and definitely worthwhile. Especially at night! Bangkok is all lit up!

...Baiyoke Tower and indulge yourself with their festive kind of Buffet foods..The tower has a hotel and lots of Restaurants specially in the upper deck. Be sure to check-out the dinning in the Sky Lounge @ night, they have great panorama of Bangkok in the evening!

The Baiyoke Tower is the country's tallest building. It contains the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia and the third-tallest all-hotel structure in the world, with 673 guest rooms.

The building is 304 m (997 ft) tall, or 328 m (1,076 ft) tall if its antenna is included. It has 85 floors, with a public observatory on the 77th floor, a bar called "Roof Top Bar & Music Lounge" on the 83rd floor, and a 360-degree revolving roof deck on the 84th floor which you can go up and visit for amazing, if rather polluted, views over the city. The price includes a drink (alcoholic if you desire) which you can sip in the bar.
