Open only on the weekends, the Chatuchak Market is great place to bargain hunt, people watch, and sample really cheap Thai food. Located just south of Chatuchak Park, the market is easily reached by taking the SkyTrain to the end of the line at Mo Chit. The market is massive, with a seemingly never-ending sea of food, souvenir, and clothing stalls (actually there are a mere 8,000 stalls). True enough, in many ways Bangkok’s streets and alleys are a giant market of rotating food, souvenir, and clothing stalls. But every weekend, Chatuchak Market concentrates them all like nowhere else. Even if you aren’t much of a shopper, it will take you the better part of day to fully take in all the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. Directions: Simply take the Skytrain to the end terminal called Morchit which is exactly where the market is located.Website: http://www.discoverthailand.com
