Chatuchak Weekend Market .With this market in the city , one would always have something fun to do on the weekend. When I first heard how huge it is , I thought of chaos....It is unbelievably huge . It contains more than 15 000 shops and stalls, has over 200 000 visitors each day but it is surprisingly so well organized .. If you walk left or right it's same stuff....eg shoes...shoes and more shoes . Walk straight ahead and you get to a different category....like shirts etc....so simple really. There is a huge range of products on sale and bargaining is expected .There are household accessories, handicrafts, art, antiques, books, music, clothes, food, plants and flowers etc... Don't worry there are lots of places fro food and drinks...and I never felt crowded even though there are so many people. 9.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday and Sunday We had lots of fun and as usual bought too much.... Directions: Simply take the Skytrain to the end terminal called Morchit which is exactly where the market is located.Website: http://www.discoverthailand.com

 | | | | Chatuchak Weekend Market: Shopping Madness at "JJ Market" | Tip Rating: | | | | |
The Chatuchak (Jatujak) Weekend Market or affectionately called "JJ Market" by the locals is so huge that you cannot finish it in one day. The market is open on Saturdays and Sundays. It is very warm and crowded, so wear something light and watch your belongings. The market is divided into 24 sections, and the shops are further sorted according to soi (lane). You can get a map of the market from the security guards located at the various main entrances to the market. You can also look at my picture attachment to get an overview of the market. You can get everything here e.g. clothing and accessories, handicafts, furniture, food, plants, pet and accessories, books at low prices. You should do some bargaining, but just 10% to 20% for clothing and other small items, as they are pretty honest with tourists. Directions: Take the BTS Skytrain to the end terminal called Mo Chit, or the MRT to Chatuchak station. A typical taxi journey from the central Bangkok area will cost around 100 Baht, excluding toll fee payable by passenger if the tollway (highway) is used.Website: http://www.jatujakguide.com

 | | | | Chatuchak Weekend Market: The best Market!!! | Tip Rating: | | | | |
If you go the first o second day to chatuchak market, buy, buy the things that you really like, don’t wait until going to other market or Chiang Mai, chatuchak is worth it. We went at 9:00 when they open and we stayed until noon, the sun was killing us and every moment were more and more people, but you can find every thing there and have very good prices. They sell second hand clothes, and normal clothes, was not my favorite really, but it’s entertaining, have pets, plants, handicrafts, mask, candles, incense, woodcarving, furniture, food; ah!!! And out of the market there are selling false teeth. Directions: Simply take the Skytrain to the end terminal called Morchit which is exactly where the market is located.Website: http://www.discoverthailand.com
