I cannot provide much information on this, because I happen to swing by on closing day. 10 minutes walk from Khao San Rd.

Visit closed on Tuesday.

Pavillion at National Museum

There are 2 or 3 of these pavillions on the ground of the National Museum, a former palace. A couple times a day they have demonstrations of traditional dance here.

Visit the national museum in Bangkok. As well as lots of treasures, it has a traditional Thai house in the grounds.
