if you are not tired of the various animal shows included in your tour package, like monkey show, elephant show, cobra show, crocodile wrestling show and more, then you can head to Bangkok's Only Safari Park Attraction, the Safari World. they are two ways to go there, either book a whole day safari world tour from your friendly tour agency, which abounds around bangkok, for 1,100 baht per person and it includes hotel pick up and drop off and entrance to the Park and lunch.
Or you can take the taxi to the park (will cost about 200 baht per trip) or the public buses along Democracy Monument, facing the BTS Skytrain Station to the park, which is about a 30 minute ride. And then pay the 650 Baht entrance fee for adults (and 550 baht for children). lunch buffet is also included in the price.
the Park is Divided into the Safari Park and Marine Park, of which you can take a 45 minute tour at Safari Park and then watch the various animal feeding shows and the Marine Park, where you can watch various marine shows and ride the Jungle Cruise water flume ride (you need to pay extra for the ride).
opens: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday
Good fun for kids and adults. The safari simulates the African safari with Lions and other wild animals loitering around your van.
45 min drive from city centre.....depending on traffic.
Don't miss the James Bond show (I had visited the park a few years back and this show was exciting and hilarious)
This is a must visit place especially if you are going with kids. Kids would love this place for all its amazing shows e.g. Chimpanzee show, sea lion show and dolphin show.
You can easily spent the whole day here.
Don't bother paying to go and if you do...you will regret it and pay even more and is sad you are contributing to their suffering (i regret going to it n see their pointless acts)....althought i hate to see animals being caged up...what is worse....to see they are unhappy doing circus acts for the public...especially the elephants and polar bears...love the animals....but not in their right environment...anyway....if you want to see the real safari world.....go to africa.....not thailand!
Safari World is one of the famous Zoo little outside of Bangkok. Its better to go to take a taxi or Bus from Victory Monument and after a taxi from there to Safari World.
Name: Safari world
Attraction Type: Zoo
Location: Outside Bangkok
Pictures in the web: Parks and Zoo in Bangkok
First Photo: Safari world

Please do not visit the safari world park!
BOS (Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation), found out that they illegaly smuggle wild orang utans from the malaysian woods . They hit and abuse the animals to get them trained for their shows. Tiger babys live in tiny crates, where at one point in time, they all go mentally ill.
I know, the shows might be funny for kids, but there is no reason to let animals suffer for a short laugh. And kids shall learn to treat them with respect and see them in Zoo's where they live in a natural environment. So please, please do not go to this place! More information on BOS you can find on following websites: http://www.monkeyworld.co.uk/press.php?ArticleID=67 or www.savetheorangutan.org.uk
Safari World is located outskirt of Bangkok. Here, you can find different kinds of animals like giraffe, elephants, dolphins etc etc.
They have a scheduleled animal shows for dolphins, sea lions, uranggutans etc.
Just check their brochure for the show time.
After the show a guide will take you to the wild life safari by riding a close bus and roam around to see the tigers and other wild animals in the pak.
Kiosk, souvenir shops and amusement park can be found within the complex.
Would definitely recommend this activity for both young and young at heart..
The animals here are not happy, not healthy and not well taken care of. The poor orangutans have to stage a boxing show, and I have even read some articles by Animal Rights organisations which stated that some orangutans have even died while training for these shows. Also, take a look at this article from BBC, entitled Orang-Utan apes missing in Bangkok:
Please do not encourage the maltreatment and cruelty towards animals!!!
we opted for an additional tour of safari world (whole day), worth 1300 baht per person, which includes safari world open zoo, marine shows and buffet lunch...we got to see various animals at their natural habitat while inside a coaster, we got to see feeding time of lions...the buffet lunch was ok, with thai food and delicacies...but themarine shows are just ok comparable to the shows in the philippines...you can save a lot of money and time if you skip the marine shows...you can save half the price! but the safari world open tour is worth the money!
Even it’s not a touristic attraction we went there, at the zoo, but it’s more like a park where local people spend the day, sitting on the grass or chairs or simply in hamacs, and take their own lunch. There are raven everywhere and some animals but not well take care, we lost our time going there and also going to the safari world, it’s incredible but it was more expensive than the zoo at Singapore and honestly I felt stolen. Very few animals and not well take care, the installations need a very urgent renovation, and all this about open wild animals is simply some giraffes, camels, birds, buffalos, tigers, zebras, rhinoceros and deers basically. We went on March and the half of the safari park was closed, the shows were very basic and the food there oh!!! really bad; we didn't stay until the end of the tour, (it isn't a tour is just to see the shows) we had to take a taxi back to the city, the taxi was expensive but when you're a tourist you need your precious time.
Ok, ok, good things: I could give a hug to a baby orangutan (80 bath) and saw the tigers feeding time.
It will take you a whole day to experience this visit. Fun for Family, especially if travelling with kids.
Activities you can do here...
SAFARI PARK. The only drive-thru open zoo in the heart of BKK that houses a variety of rare and endangered species from every part of the world within a free living natural environment. YOu can drive and take your own car or ride the mini-coach up close to these wild creatures and thrill yourself with the feeding show.
MARINE PARK. offers a fun-filled family day wit 7 amazing world-class animal shows (BIRD SHOW, SEALION SHOW, DOLPHINE AND WHALE SHOWS, ORANG-UTANG BOXING SHOW, POLAR BEAR FEEDING SHOW, etc.) and live action stunt spectacular, the thrilling "jungle cruise" adventure river ride, a game town, hundreds of nature exhibits. (
It takes for an hour to go there by using taxi meter. The price is about 200 baths.
You must buy a ticket form a counter nearby and take a ride by using a bus. You better use web cam to catch the pic. It takes for an hour ride. You will see a lot of animals from Africa.
There are a lot of performces going on such as the doplhin show, stunt show, bird show, orang utan show, ghost house, bear show, tiger feeding show and etc. You can take some pictures with some charaters/ animals but you need to pay 20 baths.($us0.50 ). It tooks for the whole day.
Safari World is a bit out of central bangkok. Normally people will take taxi there. I am not sure how much is taxi.
In case you want to try the bus, this is the way:
From Khao San, take bus # 60 to Fashion Island (20B). Fashion Island is a big mall, around 2.5 to 3 hours ride of bus to reach there.
Then, change sangtheaw #9 to Safary World(10B). The number of sangtheaw is written in front of the car. It is quite obvious.
Returning to KhaoSan from Safari World, you have to walk out to the main road in order to get the #9 Sangtheaw. Same processure, stop at opposite of Fashion Island. Get bus number 60 or 512.
It takes very long time to reach Safari World if you travel by bus, you probably miss a few animal show in the morning unless you depart really early.
In the park, there are buses take you into the open safari, so you dont have to worry about the transportation.
The entrance fee for Safari World is 700B
-Located on 440 acres with the Safari Park and the Marine Park. They also offered daily Shows such as Orang Utan Boxing Show, Sea Lion Show,Bird Show ,Stuntman Show,Dolphin Show.
-Admission: Adults 600B; children 360B
-Open : 9.30am-5pm Mon-Fri; 9am-6pm Sat, Sun & holidays
A must see attraction while you are in Bangkok. Be careful while you are in the vehicle because sometimes wild animals like tigers and lions are very close to cars.
