Siam Ocean World is a wonderful aquarium of sea creatures ranging from the delicious lobsters, beautiful coral fishes and the dangerous shark.
It takes up the space of B1 and B2 in Siam Paragon (accessible from Siam BTS Skytrain Station). Entrance / ticket counter is at the other end of the Siam Paragon mall.
The standard ticket includes a glass bottom boat ride where the fishes follow closely after the boat for visitors to throw in some shrimps (can be purchased). The fishes snatches the shrimps and creater a splash of water. The ride is pretty short (1 round) and at the end of the ride, the tendency is to throw in the remainder of the shrimps.
A fast space walk (including the boat ride) would take you about an hour or two to complete.
Nearer to the end, there the feet spa where you dip your feet into a "basin" of fishes who will eat away all the dead cells from your feet. The treatment is very safe.
Besides this Siam Ocean World, the other comparable ones is the Singapore's Sentosa Underwater World and one in Sydney.
Worth the while visiting this place.

At the basement of Siam Paragon is Siam Ocean World, an aquarium with a pretty impressive underwater tunnel housing lots of sharks, stingrays and big fish. Leave the husband and children there whilst ladies go shopping. Entrance fees are not cheap though.
I thought it a little bewildering that underneath the glitzy shopping arcade hides this "subterranean" waterworld. My favourite were the sea angels!!

What can I say? A really nice aquarium to visit.
The pictures here do not do the sea creatures any justice. You have to go there to see them for yourself.
Take the package that includes the aquarium entrance, glass bottom boat ride and the "4D cinematic experience".
It will be difficult to take photos with a simple point and shoot camera unless it is armed with the "aquarium function". Unless you know how to fiddle with the manual controls and turning off the flash, photos will always turn out dismal.

I thought that the entrance fee was only 450baht (i checked the website and then there were two rates: the one in written in thai was 450 for adults, while the english one was 750baht.)
anyway, i still went to Siam Ocean World and paid the 750 entrance fee, which included several stubs (1 free 22oz pepsi, 1 free boat ride, and 1 free 4D movie). The boat ride would set you back 150baht, while the 4D movie would be 250baht.
despite being 750baht poorer, i enjoyed the whole experience.

I confessed: I did not even bother to step in (well, except the gift shop). Singapore has one. I've been to the one in Melbourne. And I have been IN the real thing off countless islands, not to mention the Great Barrier Reef. My friends however visited it and came back with raving reviews....so it can't really be all bad. Probably a great place to bring kids!
Open 9am-10pm daily.
Entry fee (circa Jul 2006):
Adults: 450 bahts
Children: 280 Bahts

Anyone above 120cm will have to pay 500 baht for the entry and glass-bottom boat ride. You can see a wide variety of marine life from spider crabs, sea urchins to sharks. There are also talks that you can attend and a touch pool where you can handle star fish. The rocks and seaweed were man-made and their stand is that in order to teach conversation, they should not destroy the nature by bring marine life into the aquarium.
