To visit 9 temples in a day, it seems like so easy. If you think like that, you are wrong!
Last new year, 2009, my friends and I thought the same as you guys. 9 temples in a day, how was the difficult to go? But, in fact, you need a lot of willing to go around "Rattanakosin Island (area)" and visit all 9 temples before 6 pm.
This is one thing that will test you : How are you able to endure to do something ?

This is a Gothic Church that was built by Portugese settlers. The Temple was named after Kalawario, the mountain where Jesus was allegedly cruxified. The King granted the land for it to be built in 1786. There are stained windows depicting the Old and New Testaments, and the architecture is of the Neo- Gothic style. Its situated in the Chinese area of the city.

This chinese temple is hidden behind a building. It is different from the other Thai buddhism temples. The architecture is of chinese style. There are a few halls with different chinese dieties being worshipped by devotees. It is an isolated place from the bustle hustle of Chinatown.

Its prayer time!!! This place is a very famous among the local devotess offering their prayers in flowers and inscence. Flowers and inscence can be purchase right at the entrance of the temple. Right in the middle of the temple there is a buddha statue and lots of elephant statues all around. Although not very famous among the tourists, this is a place very much frequented by locals especially during Songklan festival. While we were there, there was a thai singing/cultural dance show with some locals playing thai traditional music. Its really an eye opener to see how the locals offers their prayers...
