Buddha's feet in Wat Pho by Designerartgirl Wat Pho is probably one of the more well known of Bangkok's buddhist temples, as it features the massive relclining buddha in its central temple. A dress code is normally expected at temples so plz no sleeveless or sexi clothes, and guys preferably something longer than shorts. When entering mainly inner area's removing shoes is normal as well. Entrance is normally 20Baht for non-thai's and free for thai people. Leave a Comment

Reclining Buddha by bkarjee Wat Pho or Wat Phra Cetuphon, as is locally called is famous for a gigantic Reclining Buddha Statue. It is located very close to the Grand Palace and it doesnt take more than 10-15 mts to walk down from the Grand Palace. I was reminded of another statue of Reclining Buddha which I had seen at Kushinagar, In Uttar Pradesh state of India. This was the place where Buddha had breathed his last. Golden charms by TangoTravel Wat Po is located just south of the Grand Palace complex. Whilst The Wat Phra Kaeo and the Grand Palace can seem clinical with its perfectly manicured gardens and building; Wat Po is a living complex with schools and worship still active within the grounds. The main sight the tourist buses head for is the 150 feet long Reclining Buddha located near the north entrance on Soi Chetuphon. Spend time marvelling over the golden form with inlaid mother-of-pearl on its feet. Exploring the remainder of the complex can also be rewarding and tranquil as the tourist buses rarely stay beyond the reclining buddha. Explore the courtyards and the 95 chedis strewn through the grounds. There is a good chance you will meet with local buddist monks keen to practise their English. the reclining buddha by call_me_rhia Wat Po... Wat Po... Wat Po... and once again Wat Po... Of all the bangkok temples this one is really the top of the tops forme. Inside the gardeb a young monk stopped me and asked me my name and where I came from - I answered: Alice, from Wonderland... it is really how i felt there. Such a wonderful temple, such wonderful green and blue pagodas. I have never seen something more magnificent. Wat Po is also the home of the golden reclining Buddha and of a famous traditional massage school. What more can one want from a single place? The entrance (2002) was of 20 baht Leave a Comment Directions: across from Grand Palace, Thien pier stop
