    When i visited the Wiharn of the reclining Buddha, i heard some strange and regular sound....plinc, plinc, then i found out what causes the sound, behind the front of the statue there are a long row of pots in wich people throw coins.

  • While visiting Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), suggest you try the Thai Traditional Massage. It is said that the Thai Traditional Massage originated from here as Wat Po was the first open university in Thailand offerring many courses including those in medical science, physical therapy, and pharmacy. You can even take courses offered by the Wat Pho Thai Traditional Massage School. For more information, check out the website mentioned below.

    You must see one of the biggest Budha in town. He is resting and while beeing so enormeus hope he will stay there for ever. It is really like a symbol for Bangkok.

    after going to the grand palace, go to the reclining buddha, its a gigantic buddha that almost fills up an entire temple...the surrounding gardens and smaller temples are also beautiful...you can also exchange your money for coins to fillup small cans while walking inside the temple...this is their custom for goodluck...

  • the sheer size of the buddha is amazing...dont miss it. We were nearly being con by the local.When we got off the boat, looking for wat pho a local told us wat pho was closed until 4pm today. He offered to bring us to other places @ 80bahts per head.We decided to ignore him in the end and saw a sign "WAT PHO" turn right. Guess what, the temple is OPEN.....i cant believe these people can lie so well infront of the temple... Just be careful and ignore local who are telling you it is close for ceremony whatsoever...
