Tuk-tuks: Tuk Tuk is good BUT many try...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tuk Tuk is good BUT many try to cheat you. We asked a tuk tuk to drive us to McDonalds... and we ended up at a shopping center where he could get comission.... We was not intersting... and he was very irritated...So it ended up with me getting very pissed off, and we left the tuk tuk... and had to start to search for McDonalds on our own. We had wasted 1 hour!

    Tuk-tuks: Typical thai transport
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tuk Tuk is an original way to travel around the city. It's more expensive like the taximeter, but faster. Difficukt to use on day,due to pollution, but good in the night.

    Tuk-tuks: Tuk Plutter
  • Tip Rating:
  • Sometimes tuk tuks break down. Sometimes tuk tuks roll over as they take a corner too quickly. Sometimes tuk tuks get caught behind Bangkok Metropolitan Authority buses’ exhaust pipes. Sometimes tuk tuk drivers are really full of character. They need it.

The Tuk Tuk is a deservedly famous death trap form of transport that is cheap and easy enough to use. Once you get by the exhaust fumes and the first few near misses with other vehicles, it's a fun enough thing to do. It's actually more fun when it's over and looking back on it! I found on my most recent trip that air-conditioned taxis were actually cheaper than tuk-tuk and decidedly a safer option as well. That said, you have to go on a tuk-tuk at least once.

    Tuk-tuks: Samlor!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tuk Tuks aka as Samlors (motorised three wheelers) They are small utility vehicles, powered by notoriously noisy two-stroke engines, They are worth using for short rides, but can be uncomfortable and unstable in heavy traffic or during rainy days. Fares should be negotiated before departure.

Tuk-tuks: Tuk-Tuk---comes from the engine sound
  • Tip Rating:
  • I paid about 20 Baht from Rama V memorial to MBK centre. I bargained with the driver that he can send me to some boutique stalls selling jewellery and silk so that he can collect his petrol vouchers. It is a win-win situation. I got cheap trips and view factories and he got his worth.

    Tuk-tuks: Hell riders

    Tuk-tuks: Cheap transport
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tuk tuks are a cheap way of getting around Bangkok. You will have no trouble flagging one down, in fact they will more than likely approach you first! Make sure you agree on a price before you get in, prices are negotiable. We caught one from Chinatown to Khao San Rd for only 80baht which we thought was good value split between 3 people. Yes, 3 of us fitted in the tuk tuk...but only just! It was a case of get in and hold on tight. Our driver took great delight in zipping in and around the traffic!! I think the object is to get to the destination as quick as possible and find another fare. Lots of fun and an experience not to be missed.

Tuk-tuks: The only way to go in BKK
  • Tip Rating:
  • The best way to see BKK. Admittedly, they aren't great for the lungs, but it's a small price to pay to see the city properly. You can always haggle for a price and you should. Some of them will rip you off but most of them are a hoot.

    Tuk-tuks: Tuk tuk
  • Tip Rating:
  • Tuk-tuk is a three-wheeled motorcycle. They are cheap, convenient and fast. They managege to snake in and out of the heavy Bankok traffic. Except for the fumes, it 's fun.
