    Transport in Bangkok is a big problem !! It is many times difficult to make appointments and be on time ! Day or night So we missed a reservation in a restaurant - it took hours to get there !!! So better take the local taxi - called Tuk-Tuk

    I didn't see it in other countries I visited. So it was quite a surprise for me and a must to have a ride in one of them. I call it "funny", because in Russian tuk-tuk means "knocking on the door", so the name sounds funny... It's cheaper than taxi and not uncomfortable. Just beware, that many of the tuk-tuk drivers will try to get you to restaurants and souvenir shops before they take you to the place you wanted to get to. Sometimes though it can be fun, the driver can drive you around in his tuk-tuk for a very reasonable price. Tuk-tuks are available not only in Bangkok, but, I guess, anywhere in Thailand (in Phuket, for sure).

    The only way to travel inside Bangkok in my opinion is via tuk-tuk. These three wheel motor scooters are fearless and will weave throughout traffic with no trouble whatsoever! I did find it sort of ironic however that they all wear masks to protect themselves from the pollution, but there is no recommendation that the passenger wears one! Several times, being in the open air next to busses, it would have made sense! Fares ranged from $.50 USD to $3 USD depending on how far and where you had to go. Negotiation is always essential, as fixed prices creep up if you do not deal right away. Never get in a tuk-tuk without a price at the beginning.

    Apparently the tuk-tuks in Bangkok have been reconfigured to run on propane -- we were told the tank was right under the passenger seat! So I waited for a more traditional tuk-tuk ride in Phnom Penh!

    They cost very cheap, and driver will usually ask you for 100 or up to 300 baths. No more than 50 baths, and if they say no, pick a taxi, it will be cheaper

    A good way to get around in Bangkok are the Tuk-Tuk's. You won't be able to miss them unless you are deaf and blind. Make sure they don't rip you of though. You should get pretty far for 10 baht.

  • A very spread out system of transportation is tuk-tuk, a three wheeled "taxi" vehicle of a strange shape and open on the air! And very cheap! You can catch it anywhere on the street, they are plenty!

    Riding inside a Tuk-tuk is pretty fun. You can feel,see and smell what's going on! I love buzzing down the streets of Bangkok by the seat of my pants darting around traffic! Make sure you agree to the fare before you take off!!

    The infamous tuk tuks are three wheeled vehicles that can be seen anywhere in Bangkok. They are cheap and you can bargain with the driver for a fare and then be prepared to be cramped in a very small space. Tuk tuks are open air and it gets dusty so wear some shades during your ride. Everyone should have a ride on the tuk tuks for the sheer fun of it, however they are not exactly the most comfortable, affordable or safe means of travelling.

    Bangkok is a regional transportation hub. You can catch airplanes, trains and buses to most desired locations from here. But, I recommend a few TukTuk rides just for the experience!!
