Our hotel was about 3 km North from the Clock Tower and we spent whole day on the central and beach there. In the evening we decided not to go the town but take the close main street instead.
We saw one nice restaurant, it was already closed, we decided to come back the that one. Only local small restaurants and street stands were open and we took one of the closest. Surprise, two course dinner, pork bone soup and noodles with ham, small dumplings and vegetables. There were additional chilies and sauces on the table.
Probably in Top5 for ever, price was 60 bahts (2$) for two and food was simple but tasty. Water was the only drink they served, but there is 7-11 on the opposite side of the street, visit there first.
You don't want the see the dishing department of this bar, but I enclose the photo as last one here.
Please my friends, the name of the restaurant is probably in the heading of the stand but I can't read Thai, so please, if you can, comment me the name of the restaurant, thank you in advance.

The Peekham Road has a lot of restaurant, all types, there is (even) Swede restaurant to our neighbors. We skip allays the Swede and Finn restaurants, no need to eat home food or see countrymen, sorry guys :)
Again small hesitations, these restaurants in the most touristic areas are often overpriced and serve not so good food. But surprise again, food was delicious and the price reasonable. We think that their Panang chicken curry climbed to Top5 for all time list. The fried mussel curry was good and rices: with vegetables and the other with basil leave were tasty also, basil leave even spicy.
Personnel was friendly and fast, we gave our spacial thanks to restaurant manager and warm recommendation to you.
Favorite Dish: Total bill 750 bahts with two wines, large and small beers.
- Panang Chicken (100)
- Fried mussel Indian curry (120)
- Fried rice vegetables (70)
- Fried rice basil leaves (80)
- Red wine (100 each)
- Beer (100L and 60S)
- Water (20)

Again in the restaurant street, we had plans so the dinner was quite early. Non smoking place, good, and normal Thai style friendly service.
No bad feelings, food looked very good, but the restaurant hadn't any soul, I wouldn't go again, sorry. This was the second last evening on our vacation, that might have some influence, we had had lot of extremely good and tasty food, so the base level was set to high.
Favorite Dish: Food was good, no high lites and we took:
- Rice wit eggs (60)
- Rice with pineapple (40)
- Fried duck with spicy mango salad (200)
- Green curry with chicken (100)
Total bill with two wine, water and beers was 770 bahts.

Take a break from shopping or leave ladies to shop and take a single break or appetizer before your dinner.
Happy hours from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, two glass of red or white and snacks for the price of one. We took the red one (Berri Estates Shiraz). The wine has profile and depth. Typical to area, fresh and fruity with good concentration. 100 bahts/glass normally. White one is Chardonnay.
