    Beach activities in Hua Hin

by georeiser Updated Apr 10, 2009

Beach activities in Hua Hin like banana boat, jet ski and water ski are good. The beach sellers are walking around and offer their services. Hua Hin is also quite windy in the afternoon, so the possibility for kitesurfing is great here.

All terrain vehicle Rides, about B 500, off road, great fun, new vehicles and helmets provided, nice rough track, located down at Khao Takiab area Hua Hin. Ideal adventure fun.

Equipment: They provide helmets, I wouldn't wear shorts as can be a rough ride. Helmets provided.

  • Hua Hin Golf Courses

by sarahreynold Updated May 9, 2008

Hua Hin and also the Cha Am area are famous for the large number of excellent gof courses. Greens are busy at weekends. There is an excellent choice including Springfield, the original Hua Hin Golf Course, Lake View and many others. Some of the Golf Courses also have resorts located at the courses where you can stay in hotel accommodation, as Hua Hin Golf Course hotels and resorts. There are many courses within easy distance of both Hua Hin and Cha Am where you can stay at their hotels or hotels close to the Golf courses.

Equipment: Golf Courses have golf equipment for hire

So, on my first visit to Hua Hin (about 1994) I'm sitting in the guest house bar, minding my own business, and get talking to a New Zealander and a Swede. They've escaped the rigours of mine clearance in Cambodia for a few days of golf.

I'm Scottish, so whisky was the first topic of conversation. Short discussion, as I never touch it.

So, golf next. But I never play! I did when at high school, but after that I had to earn a living...

Anyway, I get talked into joining them on their game the next morning (7am start, to beat the heat).

I loved it! Got round in 110. Even got a par on one hole!

It was hot as hell. The monkeys kept pinching my balls. An elephant appeared out of the bush at one point.

Two magical moments to savour - taking my shoes off at the end, and the very cold beer which followed immediately! Jumping in the pool back at the hotel comes a close 3rd.

The course is seriously good. The first in Thailand, dating back to 1924.

Equipment: You can rent everything. Caddies compulsory (mine had limited English "head down, watch the ball" 109 times).

    Beer almost compulsory.

    Pepper spray for the macaques.

Beside many golf courses in Hua Hin, horse riding along the shore in Huahin and near by beaches is very popular for many decades.
