Ta-Kiab Beach, Hua Hin
Although not my piese of cake for beach holidays , Ta kiab offered me unique images of local everyday life, like the early morning fishing boats, the amateur fishermen and the local youth having fun! (see additional photos)
Ta-kiab beach lies 6km south of Hua Hin town (esily reached by motorcycle taxis)
I found it a better option than Hua Hin beach as it is as big but only a small portion is filled up with hotels. That means if you walk a bit on the beach you can enjoy it all on your own. There is a small river coming out to the sea. It is nice to walk up down (good exercise). Numerous vendors sell all sorts of goods, you can even ride horses, but I would advice you to rent a deck-chair and buy fresh refreshments from the mini bars… sea and sun in the middle of European winter
Nevertheless I can’t say I liked swimming there. The water was too swallow for my taste and awfully warm as well. Due to tide the sand on the beach was not also soft but wet and flat. Not to mention the gigantic jellyfishes which we were told are quite hazardous.
A very quiet beach, where you can relax in the few beach chairs that are available. In the early evening, you can enjoy Thai youth playing football on the beach. It's a great place, far away from the mass tourism of the bigger Hua Hin beach.
