on March 19, 2007Yes, the menu is mostly western & so might attract a homesick tourist, but the quality of the food & cooking is not good, meaning chewy meat & tasteless vegetables. What's more, the prices are MUCH higher than at other HH restaurants, even those serving Western food.
If you must use one of the Satukarn restaurants, choose your meal carefully -- try to avoid western food & maybe try a Thai dish. However, this is a tourist place & so if you like spicy food, you might be disappointed.
Similarly, don't feel obliged to tip -- many Thais do not!
Almost opposite Satukarn Square is the main town temple. On the other side of this temple are many restaurants, also aimed at tourists but offering better quality & nicer prices. Alternatively, try going further north along Petchkasem Road, a couple of blocks, & then head off to the left. Here you'll find many nice street restaurants selling nice Thai food for a lot less money.
