A tranquil beach resort
hotels everywhere, beach not really idyllic
I don't understand the appeal of this place.
Take a street leading to beach between Hilton and Sofitel hotels and you are in the most crowded beach area. You whether like it or not the beach is lively with sun beds and umbrellas, restaurants and hawkers and different kind of sport activities like parachuting and pony riding. The restaurants and sun beds are within the same business, so you...more
Night markets are commonplace in Asia. If you are not familiar with the concept, consider a normal open-air market that has been moved to evening and night. The stalls open after dark and the market keep going strong to the wee hours. Hua Hin's lively night market is running every night on Decha Nuchit Road, nearby the clock tower in the centre....more

The restaurant is on very quiet street and it closes at 7:00PM, so you need to be early and when sun is shining, it's a little bit challenging, at least to my kind of eskomo. All tables are in shed and it seems to be a home restaurant. Nice but cold white blue decoration. No white linen needed but the coated fabric on the table are not...more
Again in the restaurant street, we had plans so the dinner was quite early. Non smoking place, good, and normal Thai style friendly service. No bad feelings, food looked very good, but the restaurant hadn't any soul, I wouldn't go again, sorry. This was the second last evening on our vacation, that might have some influence, we had had lot of...more

As everywhere in Thailand and Asia, one of the best places to visit is Market areas, especially during night or evening time. Lot of things to purchase and what the best, the food! Market Village is a shopping mall, probably the best in Hua Hin with tens of shops you have seen earlier and tens new ones. Currency exchange on the base floor with good rates. This is a really inspiring shop in Hua Hin. It's bursting with colourful arts and crafts, as well as some cosmetics and clothing. Hua-Hin seems to have a tailors shop every 10 yards from another tailors shop. "Do you want to buy a suit sir" is heard around town all the time. One came up to me with "you are looking very well today " I found this a little hard to believe as I was wearing a t-shirt that looked like it had been kicked around the floor and only had about 4 hours...more
While holidaying in Hua Hin from the 8th February, 09 to the 11th February, 09 we were introduced to Hollywood Tailors by our expat friends who had also introduced others to them. In the centre of Hua Hin, on the town hall/police station crossroads, there is a large open-air restaurant & shop complex called Satukarn Square. If you walk past, you will be hassled by touts telling you of special offers or food from home, but don't be fooled! Any restaurant that needs a tout should be approached with care, & (for example) their...more
I have never seen so many tailor shops in my life. The guys hang around outside then pounce as soon as you get close enough. Their trick is to shake your hand while passing their business card at the same time but not letting go of your hand all the time trying to sell their wares. This was the only down fall they just got on my nerves after a...more

Head to Chopstick Mountain if you want to see a giant 17 metre tall golden Buddha Statue, in the ‘calming the ocean’ posture and standing against the cliff wall.It is about 4km south of Hua Hin.A temple at the top of the hill, Wat Khao Takiap, offers bird's eye views of Hua Hin, day or night. This is a 'must see' for anyone visiting Hua Hin. There are half day tours and other day trips including the national park.
