Luggage and bags: When out and about I carry a small backpack. This carries all my daily neccesities . There are a few but they are very light and what I deem neccesary items. This also carries all my camera equipment that is "out of sight"
There are two most important items that I always have with me and they are:
Sufficent fresh bottled water ...more than enough for the heat of the tropical days.
A good reliable Mosquito and insect repellant. People always ask if I think this is neccesary??? In the tropics Malaria and Dengue fever are prevelant and I am NEVER without my mosquito and insect Repellant.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Walking over great distances is the norm when travelling so I always wear,
A good hat for sun protection.
A pair of reliable sunglasses for sun protection also.
A strong and comfortable pair of hiking/walking boots/shoes .
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Whenever I am travelling in the tropics and due to the extreme heat and humidity I always carry these items:
A small tube of sunscreen 15+
A small packet of wet ones...not only for heat but also for wiping small injuries clean.
A small tube of lip balm
A small tube of moisturiser
A small packet of tissues in case the roll is empty!!
A small bottle of hand sanitiser...so much food is hand eaten..
A couple of band aid strips...always handy to have in your pocket.
Photo Equipment: I really like my photography and carry digital cameras and lenses.
A battery charger for my digital batteries
An International power point adaptor.. imperative...
A spare memory card to avoid any dissapointment.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: A small rolled up poncho..This covers me and my back/pack in case of tropical storms.
A small self winding torch ..this is a must.
Miscellaneous: This may seem like a lot of items but they are all small, light , and I feel neccesary for me to carry.

Luggage and bags: During the day you may need a small backpack but do without if you can...it's too hot & humid to be carrying something on your back all day... It could be easier just to carry a bottle of water and some cash...
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take good walking shoes because you will be bound to come across uneven surfaces and you'll do a lot of walking around the area.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: We were advised to take malaria tablets by our doctor...although we didn't see too many mozzies we both got bitten.
Photo Equipment: Take HEAPS of film or memory cards...you'll need them...especially if you go to the Tiger Temple or for an elephant ride... ;)

Luggage and bags: Your own backpack is good enough. Some people may take only a few cloths and leave thier luggage behind in Bangkok. This is not necessary as the minivan/tour guides will make good arrangement for you so that you don't need to carry your stuff while trekking. This allows you to have adequate supply of everything. After all, if you only need a few clothes for 3 days trip, then why do you carry the whole backpack (10-15 kgs?) in the first place?

Luggage and bags: Aside from your clothes bag, bring a small knapsack or sling bag to carry a bottle of water, your camera and a small towel or shirt when you go treking around the caves or waterfalls.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring INSECT REPELLANT!! Leave the high heels and leather shoes at home, no fancy bars or rave parties here. Just lots of trekking, kayaking and other nature outdoor stuff. Do bring a hat, shades, sunblock, swimsuit, slippers and a nice pair of hiking boots or mojos. A foldable raincoat would be nice too.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Basic first aid kit and whatever medication you regularly take. No hospital, pharmacy or infirmary nearby. Bring you basic toiletries, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush etc, Jungle Rafts Resort only provides soap.
Photo Equipment: Camera and video cam! Lots of film! Splash pack if you have one.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Nice handy flashlight especially when your resort has no electricity. good for cave trekking too.
Miscellaneous: If you have a sweet tooth or need to have a snack between meals, come prepared and bring your rations so you wont go hungry. Chips, chocolate, candy, cake, brownies, ..pack em in less you go crazy without them.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good shoes are essential for caves (slippery!) & jungle. Shorts and T-shirts go almost anywhere, but take also trousers and long-sleeved shirt to cover your skin against the mosquitos at night.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquito repellent!!! There is a small risk of malaria in Kanchanaburi province, so be prepared! However, medication against malaria is not recommended for short trips (side-effects), so repellent and clothing are the best ways to avoid the risk.
Miscellaneous: You might want to take a flashlight for the caves - it is also very useful at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts at night!

A: Erawan N.P. is 32 miles from Xanadu Resort and Hellfire Pass museum is about 12 miles and is free. Can't find a price on the cost but it cant be very expensive.
