Outside the hotel I stayed was a restaurant on the beach that was utterly romantic by fist look, but quickly deteriorated by the kind of service that the place had. Did many attampts at picking in the menu and finding things they could do right, but rarely any luck. it takes a long time for the food to arrive, and while good, it may come with dessert first, then main course and concluding with cold starter, or the wrong dish entirely. The staff were clearly under difficult management and complicated procedures. What finally worked well was to pick something from the open BBQ and take it simply - nearly as a snacks dish - it would be warm and tasty. The live music provided was a disaster, why drown out sounds of waves lapping at the sandy beach and calm conversations ove food?
Dress Code: Shorts/sandals ok, I always try to put on a short-sleeved shirt in any eatery, and would certainly do so here, too.

Don't be deterred by the name of this bar, there is nothing "pornographic" about the place!
Porn Bar is located a bit of a walk south from the main hub of Kai Bae Beach. It is a place where many of the younger back-packing folks go to enjoy a drink, the ocean and some great music.
Bamboo tables and chairs are set up within a few steps of the water. Although it's best to come to Porn Bar after the sun goes down, it could also be a good place to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset.
Highly recommended - good times! You even get a "bonus" fire show.
Dress Code: As casual as you would expect for a bohemian beach bar.

Ok so this isnt a nightclub, its a small bar run by 3 lovely thai women who greet you like Charlies Angels (the soundtrack was on when i arrived). I was told to go there, and that they were really nice. Its basically just a small bamboo hut with a few stools around it but as soon as I sat down the women got out jenga and connect 4. I was there the next night from 9pm to 1am just playing jenga , conect 4 and talking. They have few drinks on sale but it was the atmosphere I liked, and it showed you dont need much at all to enjoy yourself.

Get a bucket at least once they arent too bad sound nasty but great with plenty of ice to keep it cool. The bucket is a mix of 1 tin coca-cola (usually coke but can get sprite etc.) , 1 tin red bull, and 1/2 bottle of Sangsom (Thai whiskey or rum not sure which). Costs around 150 baht per bucket but 3 and you're sure to be drunk and its quite delish.

The most popular bar / nightclub on white sand beach mats and tables on the ground and a poi show every night (fire show), not bad. Plays mostly hip-hop international and thai. Probably the only place youll find selling buckets(tasty drink) in Ko Chang.

I asked a few locals where to go out at night and they said check out KC bar. I went there around 10pm and the place was almost full. This place has a bar, a dance floor and all the tables are on the beach.
The dance floor was filled up when it was past midnight.. The music..hmm I would say it was ok at first then it got terrible... For half night, the music was like hip hop and mainstream.. then somehow it was changed to some sleazy pop dance from like ages ago... It kinda ruined the mood...but when you got a buzz, you could have fun anyway.

It is wonderful to sit at the beach with a fire slowly watching the sunset. While the sun is setting you can barbecue a fish in the fire. Another very tasty tip is to throw the seeds from you durian in the heat for a while, a great nutty taste will surprise you.

There really isn't muck nightlife on Koh Chang; however, there are several bars that show some bootleg unreleased movies. There are also dancing bars and karioke bars, kinda fun, I guess...

White beach is the longest beach in Koh Chang. It's also the place where most tourists are. Restaurants and bars are alongside the beach. The atmosphere is calm compared with Phuket and Koh Samui.
