Koh Samet is quite at night. There is a bar with a small hifi-equipment at Ao Phai, other than that there isn't much. So if you feel like shaking your rear all night long this isn't the place.
I suggest you chose a table at one of the many restaurants right out on the beach and have a nice meal. When the tidal waves come in you are sure to have to move if you pick the tables closest to the water, but that's part of the fun! Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Ao Phai Beach

After checking in, I made sure to have a shower first before going out as I stink as hell finding a place to where we'll sleep..After awhile, we had a dinner and a little drinks outside as they have tables near the beachside..It's packed with alot of people..There were also children running around. As I recall, they have a festival nearby as it was their Kings' birthday and a day after is Samet Island Festival so most of the locals too are hanging out with their families and friends..
Anyhow, I honestly saw a "Falling Star" and I wished..I wish..Well, I hope that my wish will turn out as "Yes"!
See, you don't need to go anywhere to be more happy...You can be more happy if you're where you want to and with you love..=)

Ko Samet's nightlife is concentrated along Sai Kaew Beach. You've got all the usual beach bars here with cushions on the beach and torches around. All places I tried here were pretty much the same, prices for drinks may vary a bit though.
Some bars have the popular fire shows at night.

This was my favorite place on the island to hang out......they have their busy nights and the more calm nights. The best thing was the lay down seats....it was like a bamboon table but the legs half cut off, and on top of that a rug with big hard pillows. There is no dance floor here, just a lay down spot inside and on the beach are the lay down seats. In the busy season they run a bbq for dinners and serve all kinds of drinks. In the low season its just usually drinks. The owners are from england, good guys and will give you good service.
There is a big area to lay down inside by the bar....in that area is a tv where you can come and choose some movies during the day and watch a show. Enjoy a drink and what not.

I usually wore shorts and a cut off, but you can wear whatever you like. Just take a seat at the beach or the beach-chairs and watch the ocean.
There are several lights from the fisher-boats. Nice and romantic to see!!!

It's on Ao Pai...just ask people around for where it is or follow the sound of music...it will lead you the way :p This place is the most packed at night. The space is big alright with a dancefloor and tables and seats on the beach area to sit. The music is hiphop...the drink? if you don't mind sharing, get a bucket of something...ours: a bucket of a vodka redbull was the tradition.

Don't expect to dance your heart out here. It's more like a relaxing spot. A place to chill. Evening time you go out and have some seafood BBQ or other yummy Thai dishes. Drink and chill. Restaurants are lined up on the beach. Just walk around and pick which interests you the most. But like mentioned in the restuarant tips, most restaurants have the same standard of food, drinks and price.

i ve been here twice on 2 separate visits to this island. on the second time when i was there, there was some staff at the bar who was leaving to his hometown for good. hence there was a farewell party going on among the staff. to say there's heavy alcohol consumption will be such an understatement. in fact there was some major alcohol abuse going on :-)
during my first visit, it was much quieter. like a regular day. this bar has a good selection of cds and u could ask them to play something that interest u after going thru their collection. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: by the shore

Fantastic Party place. Seems like the whole island is here to drink and dance. 100 baht for a bucket, saengsom or vodka with red bull. Mixed crowd, got a little of all kinds of people here with the same theme of getting wasted and enjoying themselves doing it.
