These are awesome, every night most of the bars have happy hour and the buckets go for 100 Baht per piece. Inside the bucket is Sang Sum Thai whisky, a little bottle of red bull, and the rest coke. I have heard and read that on other islands around thailand the buckets arent strong at all. Then i read that on Ko Samet they are much better, and after testing them out i agree, they really do poor quite a bit of booze into them. Two bukets was my limit after trying 3 the first night on the island. Normally if it is not happy hour the buckets go from 150-200 Baht depending on the bar.
You can also get other kind of buckets for a higher price, SangSum buckets are the cheapest. The buckets also come in all kinds of western type drinks for a little higher price, anywhere from 250-230 Baht.

Address: Most pubs/restaurants/bars on Ko Samet.
At night on Vong Duen beach you can have a great meal in comfort and then dance on the beach or just talk to the locals in one of the many bars.
My friend Jody here (see other pics behind) helped some local resturant waitresses and other tourists to peel back the lotus flowers to offer at the Buddhist temple the following day.

On all the beaches there are small little beach bars that look something like this. They are usually open all day and most of the evening. Serving cold drinks and what not. Some of these also offer little beach chairs next to the bars with music playing, a good way to spend an afternoon or an evening on the island.
Dress Code: From Half naked to a suit i guess.

Fantastic Party place. Seems like the whole island is here to drink and dance. 100 baht for a bucket, saengsom or vodka with red bull. Mixed crowd, got a little of all kinds of people here with the same theme of getting wasted and enjoying themselves doing it.
Dress Code: Anything goes. Very casual dresscode. Good for the beach.

This is I found quite attractive. Full house with local and tourist people especially tourist. The music is out loud compare to the other bar. Mind that this just for un peak season though but during peak season I bet every bar is open and more people around. This time of season, is just cool and relaxed.
Dress Code: It's ok if you wear whatever you want to wear as there is no restriction on that.

The island is very small and pretty much a single beach to hang around on. They had fire shows and music while just hanging out and enjoying cold beers while chatting with strangers from around the world.

Johnies bar is actually the name Gordons thai wife. I sat one night and BS'd with the guy for quite awhile. At the time they said they were getting ready to move, still unsure of the location they were going. Nice couple though. Stop in and say high.
Dress Code: Come as you are

This bar starts getting lively around 10 or 11 and they have a special where you filp a coin, call heads or tails, if you get it right you get half price off your beer. Also all day people are giving out flyers for free buckets and wow do they start the night off right. I've gotten free buckets before (Ko phi phi, ko phangan) but their free buckets are weak and are basically some coke and ice. The ones here on Samet are the real deal... If you're on a budget and looking to party take advantage of this! Of course one good bucket leads to way more spending on other drinks! This place dies down around 12am or so, after that head down to Silversands and finish the night there!
If you go to Tok's, make sure you say what's up to DAVE! He is this little Thai guy who has a cockney accent! I could'nt believe it.....
Dress Code: No dress code, you probably don't want to wear much anyway - its so warm!
