Jeb's: Can't ever forget the taste of Pat Tai!(correct?)

The food there is moderate. But the taste of Pat tai(sort of noodle) was incredible.. was very cheap also..

and at nights, the barbecue's served, still very cheap, (well... I know in Thai, almost everything's very cheap .. but still can't stop imposing.. ) and tasty as well!

Cafe by the pier: Dining by the pier!

View from the cafe

This is very much a western-style cafe / coffeehouse, with all the suitably trendy decor and furniture.

Dropped by there while waiting for the boat. Nice ambience, with a view. Possibly popular with the after-dinner crowd.

Ao Phai Restaurant: Dining on the rocks!

Resting after the meal

The restaurant serves the usual offerings like western sets and local dishes for western palettes.

What's unusual is that you can choose to dine on the rocks by the beach. They've got low tables and mats for diners to sit on. When evening falls, they'll light up a kerosene lamp for each table.

Unfortunately, when there is a wind, sand will be blown up, so you could get sand in your food and eyes. So choose a calm day!

Perfect with a light breeze and soft sun!

This is a restaurant catering to foriegn tastes. It generally serves the same kind of food as the others beside it, such as western sets, local dishes tweaked for western palettes, grilled seafood, and so on. The food is generally pretty good, nothing to complain about.

The special feature is that you can dine on the beach itself if you like, as they've got furniture placed right on the sand. It's ideal for those who have just gone swimming and want some food or drinks without putting on "proper" clothes.

It's also ideal for those who are people-watching! ;)

Restaurants, in general

Most restaurants on Vongduen beach are more or less the same. We tried 3 restaurants. Their food and price are about the same rate.

So I supposed its a matter of which place has more comfy seat, better service or their music, decor... Not much of the difference I'd say.

Favorite Dish: Green curry chicken
Pad khi mao
Banana shake

Lots of choice - sometimes dubious quality!

I didn't find Ko Samet to be very good for food in general. It was more expensive than in other parts of Thailand and sometimes the meals we had were a bit disappointing. It's a case of finding one or two good places and sticking with them.

Samet Ville Restaurant: Thai foods

Samet Ville REsto

If it will not rain, the outside resto by the beach is very pretty filled with big trees to have a shelter on but be sure to ask for a mosquito killer!haha..Well, they do have best thai foods. They served from 7am to modnight. They have a good looking small beach front sari-sari store(if that's how it calls). It can get too crowded during weekends and will be deserted during sundays and weekdays.

Samet Ville Resort is the only resort that operates around Ao Wai so all the people in the Resort will go in this resto for food! Go there early for lunch and dinner so that you can eat directly. Foods can get too late after order! They also have very friendly staffs..except for the gay frontdesk;-)

Favorite Dish: Fried crab with curry(always) and Fried sea bass with sweet and sour souce and fried rice.

Pictures later..

Tarn Tawan Restaurant: Good foods in around the area...

main bar~

The restaurant is just around the corner to where we stayed. You can chose of your table either your in the restaurant viewing the white beach or beside the beach..though both of them are pretty. Most of the costumers when we got there were locals. As it was the King's birthday, most of the locals are having a weekend in some of the beaches..I've also seen quiet alot of tourist in the area. Some are British that they just sat beside the beach and had coconut juice and there skin in the sun!

The food was okey..well, it's the nearest restaurant and the roads to anywhere of the beach resorts are bad as it gets...so, we didn't had chance to go anywhere aside from that we go there for beach hopping!

Favorite Dish: Grilled chicken and friend rice with ham for hubby's b-fast.And for me, had an ABF..it only cost as 400baht with of cappuccino and expresso!
