One of the nicest things I enjoy doing whenever I am in Thailand is to have a nice massage. There are so many scattered around the place that the traveller is rather spoilt for choice. Some are better than others and some also include Beauty treatments such as facials, manicures, and pedicures. VIP Sauna and Steam is what it says it is and of course has a wonderful massage service.

VIP Sauna and Steam massage was a place reccomened to me by a Thai friend who would use this place themselves. For one hour a person could relax and undwind by having a massage for a minimal price (I think I paid about around the 100-300 baht price mark for one hour).

A girl is then picked out by the manager and is assigned to you to take your cares away from you while you enjoy having her take away all those aches and pains. If she is good you can then ask for her number and she will be your massuese next time you come to visit. I had my own massage done by Vi- Lai who was Massage girl number 19.

VIP Sauna and Steam can be located at 533 Pattaya Soi 10, Pattaya 2nd Road. Ph 429543

With a lovely parrot. There are many in Pattaya. Pity that it's in captivity, but he is at least more free than those in cages. He can talk (but I don't speak Thai! :))))
Actually, he COULD talk, it hs been 11 years now, who knows if he is still alive... He was also very friendly, like Thai people! :) Or maybe I love animals too much?!

There is something a bit disturbing about how Thai kids are left to roam around at all times of the day and night. I hated being in bars late at night to find kids of 3 and 4 being sent in to sell the tourists chewing gum, etc.
At least they seem generally happy and I didn't see any that were being abused.

    Pattaya Road to Jomtien

Pattaya Beach is a palm-fringed sandy bay with a pleasant view of tropical islands on the horizon. Along the coast nearby are cliffs and other beaches like Jomtien to the south and Nokluea to the north. In all there are nearly fifteen-kilometer of beaches while inland, the area is rich in agricultural products including sugar cane, pineapple, tapioca, fruits, and fast growing trees and bamboo.

Pattaya Beach was once a small fishing village on the Gulf of Thailand until the Vietnam War. With the war came thousands of American GIs looking for a place to get away from the death and destruction that wars bring and so Pattaya Beach became an official R&R center for the U.S. military forces in Vietnam.
The GIs were flown into U-Tapao airport, which was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their use at the time. Shortly there after hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues grew quickly to meet the demand of this large influx of free spenders and their money.
The Neckermann's tourists came just-In-time when the Vietnam's war was over and the GIs were flown home.
Today for Pattaya Beach tourism plays a leading and significant role in the life and economy of the resort. The largest Resort City in all of Asia Pattaya Beach provides the highest standard of hotel accommodations while restaurants in the city feature a delicious variety of foods from every corner of the world.

When going from Pattaya to the beach of JomTien just the top of the head-dress of the golden Big Buddha image is to be seen. In a little park you may visit this Big Buddha statue and see also the 7 Buddhas for each day of the week. A lovely and peaceful area to stay for a while.

I love to be close at the tall Phra Buddha Sukhothai, the Big Buddha statue. And climbing the stairs, with the beautifully decorated Nagas, or mythical snakes. The Tuesday Buddha is very special to me. Because Tuesday sometimes is dedicated to the Goddess, and downstairs of the Big Buddha area the little sacred environment, dedicated to Kun Iam/Quan Yin, is located, the Goddess of Mercy & Special Dedication. Super !!!

For have the best price for a hotel in Pattaya and usually troughout the country it's easy. Under 1000 bahts try to negociate a price right on the reception, over this price the best price, usually including a breakfast, it's to book trough a local agency, bigger is the agency more they have contact to the manager of hotels. For example World travel tour in Pattaya are located in the best Pattaya's hotels like Marriott, Montien Amari Orchid or Dusit resort. Other good agencies are in Post office road, soi 8 or soi 6 and in second road too.

The grey sky and rain did not stop us enjoying the afternoon on South Pattaya. The beach seem alot cleaner than the North and many locals were swimming and wizing around on jet skies & bannana boat. Many Indian & Korean tourists were arriving back from boat trips to Islands but the most popular activity here is just to rent beach chairs under colourful umbrellas and chill.Order seafood and spicy papaya salad ,cold beers from the locals and just let the day roll by...

    Watching the sunset ,people watching,eating,drinking.

My favorite day when I was in Pattaya was the trip to this "Sanctuary of Truth" temple near Naklua and it's theme park because the art work in this temple is mind blowing.
There are also elephant rides here and an amazing dolphin show twice a day where you can touch and have your photo taken with a dolphin.

The temple here was started in1981 and it is still not complete as yet.
The Temple known as "The Sanctuary of Truth" is absolutely amazing because it is a massive awe inspiring artwork that is still being built.
It has been (and still is) totally hand carved from timber by Thai artists replicating images of Gods from ancient temples.
The Temple itself is around 100 metres high and wide covering 2115 square metres.
The opening times are from 8am till 5pm and the dolphin shows are at11:30 and 3:30 pm
