Nightclubs and bars in Pattaya

This is just your average bar in Thailand. It just so happened to be right across the street from my hotel, so I'd go there once I was done partying up on walking street. I felt safer there since it was right next to where I lived. I met a few cool foreigners to shoot the *** with, and there were plenty of girls to talk to and play with.

Dress Code: You probably don't even need shorts in this joint. just bring money for brew and you're good to go.

The later the hour, the more streetfood stalls appear it seems.

I loved it but be selective as the locals are partial to deep fried scorpions and bugs.

I preferred to choose the kebab sticks and hot dogs and paid 10 Baht per stick, just the job!

Situated in Walking Street, go up the escalators and you're in the Peppermint Palace.
Highly recommend this bar for its happy hour which includes the mixer drinks 2 for the price of 1( usually they aren't included).
Cabaret inside is geared for the men with lovely Thai girls in a variety of uniforms and bikinis.
Drinks are average price for Pattaya which makes the happy hour such good value.
Non threatening environment, many female tourists inside with their partners.

Pattaya is known for it's nightlife... once upon a time not so long ago Pattaya was just a little seaside community and then before you knew it, people were flocking to Pattaya.

There are bars on bars in this place. In fact at nightime, the traveller is spoilt for choice on where he or she wants to go. Pattaya is known for it's prostitution and unfortunately many a man has fallen in love with a Thai lady seducing him with all her charms. I like the Thai people but it is sad how some of the woman have to go into a trade such as this. They are often supporting families, children, husbands, mothers, fathers, grandparents... The wages are very low in Thailand so to any Thai bar girl a farang (foreign) man is certainly worth getting to know. Some men end up having relationships with these girls only for a night, a week, a month or even keep in touch with girls long after they leave Thailand. Some come back hoping to see their girls again only to find out that their girl has got a new man, sometimes you hear of marriages and some girls go off and join their new husbands in a new life to somewhere far off away from their families. This is the reality and it is sad. A good book to read all about it "Hello my big big Honey" which gives the reader a candid look at life from a prostitutes point of view through letters to her man and letters from the men to the girls.

Dress Code: The dress code for westerners is generally pretty casual, however the Bar girls will dress up if you are taking them out in little bitty teeny weeny outfits complete with high heels. They may look cute to some in Thailand but outside to the rest of the world maybe a bit tardy, a bit too much and maybe a bit too overdone.

There's PLENTY of Nightlife in Pattaya as with other seaside resorts in Thailand.

Tons of bars and clubs. Lots of dancers and lots of girls.

But if you're not there for that, you could go and watch the Tiffany's Show or the Alcazar Show which are the transvestite shows in Pattaya.

Or you could go for my favourite after dinner activity -- a foot massage.

This is especially good after a long day of walking.

This particular one is located beside Lek Hotel which is in between Mike Shopping Mall and The Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa.

Not too difficult to find really, it's inbetween Soi 12 and Soi 13.

This clean, brightly lit place also has rooms for rent on a daily or monthly basis and the ground floor also has Internet services besides the massage area.

200 Baht for a foot massage or a traditional Thai body massage for 1 hour.

german microbrewery. they ve got promotions on the early hours - at 5 pm when they open where u buy a liter and get your second liter for free. they also do have some good food to go along. check out the sauteed chicken with dried chilli & cashew nuts. its extremely fattening but what the hell when u r on vacation ;-)

they have a band performing nightly after 9 pm. this is a non-smoking bar/restaurant and they do not have seats outside. so if u wanna smoke, u got to do it at the entrance.

This is were all the action takes place at night in Pattaya City. Off the beach road and several small streets: Soi 1, Soi 2 etc.

There are countless bars in these side streets, some have pool tables, in others you can play games like Connect 4 against the girls working behind the bar. By the way, if they ever make Connect 4 an olympic sport, Thailand will win the gold.

Prostitution is rife in these streets - I'd never seen anything like it before and it's certainly not subtle. If you are offended by this, just stay away from the streets at night.

However, if you are female and want a holiday without any unwanted attention from males - it's probably ideal.

There are so many possibilities with a varied nightlife..The southern end of the city is where it is..bars, shows, reviews, clubs, and other places that offered things to do..The city has a large gay section which is populated by transvestites called katoys in the local language. I can't give you any information other than to say that there are night club tours that can show you the sights. I pretty well only went to two places:
The Mon Cherie bar which is not far from General Sole hotel..lots of ex pats from many countries..so a great chance to converse in English..good place to get your bearings and make plans from there...a really good seafood restaurant next door called the Savoy plus a very inexpensive hotel about 600 baht which includes, refrigerator, cable, etc..convenient...

The bamboo lounge was the place of choice in the evening..two dynamite bands..one european..German I think from the accents and the other Thai..they were both outstanding..large dancefloor..an absolute fun time. It doesn't start hopping until about 2300...drinks are very inexpensive and service is good
