I've been in Pattaya for manny years and now the mean drag - walking street - is just a hot spot for families and couples. Live music and walking over the heads (so busy) it was in beginning may 2011. No nude any more. for that you have to be at the two streets (just before or past Shark. just walk 200 meterand on the right side (in each oif these two streets) you find the only good old pattaya life. Most others in these side streets have no custumors any more so in my opinion the hard core is bleading dead in Pattaya.
The only positive thing nowedays is that whole the boulevard is covered with ladies of the night (watch youre health and valuables-take a short time hotel for 300bath) possible because a lot of clubs have too less custumers any more. Better stay in Bangkok Nana entertainment Plaza which has shifted more to hardcore last years.
Dress Code: be respectfull and a tip of 20 Bath if you cannot keep your hands at home

Almost all of Pattaya is a sex tourism destination for men. It's the hooker capitol of the world. Most of the hotels I don't recommend staying in unless you just plan on using it for the hour. For couples and families I recommend staying far far away from the walking street or the central part where there are thousands of go go bars. All hotel rooms and guest house rooms smell funky like they've been used for non stop sex. Jomtien beach is much nicer area and far less hookers. The beds probably have far less mileage on them then the main pattaya area. Recommend staying in far north Pattaya or Jomtien beach. If you've watched CSI before. The rooms would light up under the UV light.
Dress Code: anything goes

Walking Street is a famous and vibrant part of the city of Pattaya and runs from the south end of Beach Road to the Bali Hai Pier, and there are entrance arches at either end. The street is traffic-free at night, from 6pm to 2am, and this is where most of the action in Pattaya happens. There are go-go (dancing girls) bars, beer bars, discothèques, sports bars, posh seafood restaurants and night clubs - you name it, it's here. Coloured neon signs and girls with happy-hour/drink special offer boards entice you into various establishments of differing tastes. If live music's your scene, then you'll hear plenty along this street. Even if you're not into what this street is synonymous for, it still has to be sampled just to see what happens here. There is a common saying that for tourists who come to Pattaya and did not get to see and experience the atmosphere of Walking Street is liken to not having been to Pattaya at all, as Walking Street is the hub of entertainment in Pattaya.

I have been to the Lucifer in Bangkok and it has seen better days but Lucifer Pattaya parties on.The big Pattaya cave was packed around 11 pm the night I went however the service was surprisingly fast. A live American funk rap band had most people especially all the girl boppin'.This place is in Walking Street so most of the girls "looked" like they work nearby. This is a fun place to work up a sweat dancing ,flirting or just listening to popular tunes in the front bar.

Pattaya is flooded with Ah go go bars, pubs and discos. The whole place lights up at night with neon and music booming all around. There are loads of streets and alley with high concentration of night life and the famous one being Walking Street. Good place to have a good night out.

Have a walk around Walking Street at night, it is very busy with tourists. I did'nt particular see it unsafe and is something not to be missed. There are a few very nice restaurants with views to the bay.

Yet another murder in Thailands biggest cesspool.........WARNING to all men. Thais (especially Isaan men who dominate Pattaya) are total phychos. Their idea of a fair fight is 5 to 1 with them armed with knives and guns. Start a fight and die like this poor Estonian man.

Estonian man dies following attack on Walking Street
PATTAYA: -- A disturbing incident occurred on Walking Street in the early hours of Sunday Morning which was initially dealt with by the Tourist Police based on the street. Three men from Estonia made a complaint at the Tourist Police Mobile Unit regarding a confrontation with three Thai Men in Soi 15. It is thought the men were being ushered into a Show Bar but decided at the last minute that they did not want to go.
The Thai men became angry and a fight ensued. The men were told to make their way to Pattaya Police Station to make a report, however they decided to take matters into their own hands and went back to confront the Thai men. It is thought that more than 15 men set-upon the three Estonian Men.
One managed to run away, a second was hit over the head with a steal pole and a third man was stabbed in the leg with a broken bottle. A major artery in his leg was severed and he was rushed to Hospital. Later on Sunday he died from the injury according to medical staff at the Pattaya Memorial Hospital.
The incident, which is now a murder investigation, occurred only meters away from the Tourist Police Unit and is now being investigated by Pattaya Police and the Tourist Police as the hunt for the attackers continues. We understand that as of Monday Afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the attack.

Walking Street is definitely for adults. If you bring your family to Pattaya, I suggest staying away from this area (especially after dark), but that's up to you... My husband and I (we are in our early 30's) were there for three days last month, visited at least 40 different go-go's, beer bars, and clubs. Aside from the initial shock of seeing so many older men with the (really) young working girls (which I never got used to), I actually enjoyed the nightlife. There were few other young couples around, so I got a lot of attention from the girls -- who were all very polite and genuinely friendly. But what impressed me most were the bathroom facilities! All of the female restrooms that I saw in the clubs were surprisingly very clean, well stocked, with little or no disrepair.
For you ladies who come to Pattaya with your husband/boyfriend, keep an open mind and Walking street can be a lot of fun. It is what it is, so don't give your man a hard time when the girls approach him, just sit back, relax, and have a few bottles of Tiger beer (my personal favorite).
Dress Code: Casual. It's hot and humid during the day, warm at night, just be comfortable.

At night one of the more "interesting" places to go out in Pattaya was a place called walking street where there is a mall full of beer bars shops and disco's and live music.
Dress Code: Anything you like because the place is already a freak show at times,so just be comfortable and happy.

Well, a visit to Pattaya isn't complete without a night out on Walking Street.
It's a very lively place and the street is closed to vehicle traffic at night, so people are free to roam in safety. Just note that it's no ordinary nightspot. It has a mixture of restaurants, nightclubs, bars and many go-go bars. The go-go bars have many women offering their services to any man willing to part with their cash for some horizontal fun for the night. I must say, many women in those places are quite pretty. Even if you go as a couple (which many people do), go into a go-go just to check it out. There are many girls in skimpy outfits dancing on stages to get guys' attention. They are very clean places and you can just relax, drink away and not get disturbed if you don't want to.
I did notice there are other non-standard bars where it seemed to be an overwhelming number of women enjoying themselves, but I must add they are available if you're willing to pay.
I went to a nightclub which did not even close when we left at 6am! There was another club we went to where everything was white... beautful place, but I cannot remember the name? Cool place to go though. ;)
Anyway, Walking Street is an extreme mix. In some ways, it felt like being in a large brothel or something where you don't know immediately which girls are working-girls and which are not?
Oh, I did get approached by some extremely beautiful people, or shall I say "lady-boys", but it didn't feel right and if it doesn't, you're probably right. Just keep walking. There are many around, so if you're not into that type of thing, then just keep walking for your own sanity!
I would not recommend families take their children there after dark.
Dress Code: Anything unless you go to certain nice nightclubs, then wear something decent.
