    Tuk on Walking Street
    by shelnlin
Walking Street is a Street in Pattaya which is great for just about anything. Souvenirs, Suits and soups can all be bought here and it is most famous because it doesn't allow any vehicles to travel done it after 7pm so you can literally "walk" down here without having to dodge a Motorbike, Car or Taxi and like the rest of Pattaya, it looks fantastic with all it's neon lights at night time. Bars with names like Prettygirl a Go-go or Dollhouse a Go-go are names that will surely attract the Single male and funny names Playboy tailors make you kind of giggle!

    Quiet Beaches

  • If you have some extra time (even just for one night), I suggest a trip to Koh Samet. It's a fanstatic island south of Pattaya.

To get there, you may get a taxi and boat combination. If you're in a hurry, take a speed boat straight to your bungalow.

Yes, there are many bungalows on the beach at Koh Samet. The water is also very clean as compared to Pattaya. There are no big resorts and no highrise buildings.

At night, there are many restaurants which you may sit (or lie-down) on the beach (they do provide tables and mats) and enjoy a peaceful dinner under the stars and listening to the soft splash of the waves hitting the beach.

I really do recommend going to Koh Samet. In fact, if you don't want to go to Pattaya, you may go straight to Koh Samet from Bangkok.

Travel time from Pattaya is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Travel time from Bangkok is approximately is 3.5 to 4 hours.

As I was visiting Mike Shopping Mall, along Beach road, I reached the top floor.

On this top floor you find the Food Plaza, with different food stands and the Playland for the kids.

On this top floor you have big windows on the right side, and from these windows you have a great view over the beach of Pattaya.

But as I walked on this top floor I did see that there was a half open door to the outside, so I went out, there was a security agent (who was eating). And I kindly asked him if I could go further on the big roof terrace of the shopping Mall in order to make a picture of this beautiful panorama. And it was no problem at all.

The result can be seen in the attached picture.

I did get this tip from Marc, a Belgian who lives here since 5 years.
You have to walk all the way to North Pattaya, near Dusit hotel, near the roundabout with the dolphins and then you take a side street on the left. And deep in the side street you find the Sousiree Sauna Institute.

Ochh, what a very special experience, all the masseurs are blind, and I can tell you the massage here is very good, as they can not see it all happens on feeling.

The price is 100 Baht for an hour, but I always go for the two hour massage (200 Baht).

This is not a touristy spot at all, as most of the visitors are Thai.

There is also a Sauna with Herbal steam bath, which I have never tried here.

There is also a vegetarian restaurant (see my restaurant tips).

Address: 172/6 M. Soi Ping Pah, Pattaya - Naklua Road, North Pattaya

When you come to my Homepage you will see a picture of me all dressed up and looking rather regal. I have some really great feedback about those photos that I thought I would share with you where I had the photographs taken.

The company is a designed for people who want to have an extra special lot of photographs taken and it isn't just for the Ladies, Men too can have their photos taken as well.

Perfect Portrait Studio is located at the Royal Garden Plaza and it is a great and affordable place to have a great session being made up and to put on a fancy dress and accessories. Customers can choose their own outfit or bring one of their own (no this one was theirs) or they can even dress up Thai style if they like.

Although the Photographer speaks no English (same goes for the Makeup artist), I managed to pose and move for the photos just as if I was a real beauty queen with lots of mmm's and yeeeeeessssss when I had to tilt my head or smile.

My cost for my photography session was 1200 baht which included 3 A4 sized photographs and 4 little ones of my own choice. and then I paid an extra 700 baht to have the photos put onto disc.

The beautiful thing about having these photographs taken was I was able to see them after they were shot and before the photographer may have needed to 'air brush' them for a more 'glam' look.

White sands and blue water. Not to mention not a soul around. That too an hour by speedboat from bustling Pattaya Beach in Thailand. Most boatmen will take you straight to Coral Island, another commercial haven for the Thai tourist Industry. This particular island, alittle farther away offers no water sports like para sailing or water scooters but is heaven to get away to.

We stayed at the Siam Bay View Hotel and this idyllic getaway was recommended by the folks in the sales office (who had nothing to gain but our godwill)

Ko Sak was the name of the island. Some boatmen will be reluctant to go but a little persuasion is all it takes.

Pictures are attached. Do try it. It's heaven. It was a first look at the sea for my three-year old, and he refused to leave the beach! We spent the whole day on the island (in busy tourist season mind you!) and we were all alone!

Situated on the seashore of Rachvate Cape, Pattaya. The Sanctuary Of Truth is an amazing structure, proudly showing ancient knowledge of Thai artists at present. Believe it or not this structure was only built as late as 1981. The parts emerging from it's foundation are ALL built of wood, to meet the intention of constructing the real "wooden sanctuary". It's a must to visit here when in or around Pattaya as the tour we had around this was truly breathtaking. Please see website for more information on this.

Right in the centre of Pattaya there is the WAT CHAIMONGKRON. It is a beautiful Buddhist temple (temple=wat) and at the same time a monastery where monks do live and take care of the temple. Most of the tourists have seen this place, not thinking over to enter. It is free entrance!

Just take your time to see all of the parts, images and some beautiful details. The coloured demons, the Buddha statues, the main hall with the golden Buddha image, the near-temples with the breath-taking tile-roofs ...

Do you want to please the monks, of the Buddha? So buy yourself a little present and offer it as a gift. Probably your gift will go into a bucket to get bought, to offer it again by a next devotee or visitor. I prefered leavin' some Bahts in front of the Buddha image ... ;o)))

Located about half hour from Pattaya following the road from Sukhumvit road to Sattaship you can find the big Buddha image 70 meters high in Pattaya and probably in the biggest in Thailand dedicated to the royal family before entering the big Buddha image there is a beautiful park with small paths
