Buses to Pattaya, Pattaya
Get to Ekkamai Eastern Bus Termanal or Mor Chit Northern Bus Termanal in Bangkok. There are 2 types of bus to Pattaya. One goes direct to Pattaya (Express) and the other goes into the rural town areas. The former is more expensive (only less than 50 bht more) but saves you about 1 hour and the latter cheaper but takes longer. The bus arrives at Pattaya Station on North Pattaya road. From here there are many Songthaew taxi that will take you to where you want to go.The fare to Beach Road is 20 baht for locals but they will charge visitor 40 baht or up to 150 baht. So, please do not get ripped off.
Getting to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi and back is very straightforward and cheap. Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi, go down to Level 1 and head for Gate 8. You will find the ticket desk selling bus tickets. A one way ticket costs 134 baht per person and this includes luggage that should consist of one bag weighing 20kg max. ( They do have a sign up charging for excess weight and number of bags but I did not see them weighing anyone's luggage).
Buses from Suvarnabhumi leave hourly starting at 07:00 with the last bus running at 22:00.
For your return to Suvarnabhumi, I would recommend purchasing your seat in advance to guarantee a space especially if you have a flight to catch. Buses run from the depot on Thrapphraya Road starting at 07:00 with the last bus running at 21:00.
The journey takes, on average two hours but I would strongly advise allowing time for delays such as traffic. Better to be kicking your heels at the airport with time to spare rather than sitting in a bus in a traffic jam worrying about whether you will get to the check-in desk on time!
Every 20 minutes a Blue bus from Pattaya bus station on north road to Bangkok Ekamai or Morchit. It's cheap around 100 baht one way.
