Since your visa expired on 12 January, the best cheap options is travelling around Thailand, ie bus ride from Cambodia border to Thailand. As you have at least a month to kill I would suggest visiting northern Thailand staying at cheap B&B and also visiting some of the island around south Thailand than taking train or bus to Penang.
Most of the hotels will offer massage services and usually you can get male or female services. Short of that there are the gay bath houses, but not really recommending that, but that is an option and they are up and down Sukhumvit Rd.Other than that I am not sure about Sukhumvit specifically. Personally I liked Krabi a lot better than Hua Hin. There was a lot more to do and Krabi just had a much better beach atmosphere tha Hua Hin. Both places are not very good during low tide however but besides that Krabi is better. Were it up to me, I would hit the Andaman coast instead. Nearly the same distance, especially if you are going to Krabi. The Andaman is SOOOOO much better than the gulf or the delta area of Krabi. Hard to go wrong on the Andaman side. There is also a Ko Chang on the Andaman side just below Ranong. From Ranong south all the way to Phuket is great, easy traveling and great national parks all the way south as well as great beaches and resorts.HAVE FUN Khao Lak, best beahes and atmosphere. I do not bother with TCs for Thailand anymore. But if you already have them then you will get charged a fee per cheque (I think it is 33 THB) so hopefuly you got high value cheques. The exchange rate is slightly better so it is not all bad news. However the fact that you have to carry your passport with you for id when cashing a cheque is a bit more hassle (and I like to keep my passport safe in the hotel). Changing money in Thailand is very easy with bank run exchange booths plenitful and easy to find along with ATM machinces and credit cards are widely accepted.DO NOT bother to exhange any Pounds for Baht in the UK. Wait until you get to Bangkok airport, the booths there are easy to spot before or afer you collect your cases.RegardsJohn
Don't think it is a good idea to take that age group to Pattaya, just full of much older men and very young girls - not nice to expose them to it. I don't think even adults want to be exposed to it, there are much nicer places to go, a train down to islands would be better.
