Bangkok

by keeweechic

Since the Vietnam War, the city's been known as a centre of the world's sex trade, and those pursuits are still widely available. However, there are plenty of other entertaining nightime activities around. Most hotels have clubs and discos. And you can certainly enjoy the shows (staged and impromptu) at the city's night spots without indulging in risky behaviour. Patpong in the silom-Surawong district, is famous for various kinds of entertainment--wine, beer, music, dancing, etc..

Patong

by keeweechic

If you are looking for nightlife then Patong is the number one choice. Patong has a lot of bars, discos, karaokes massages and a-gogo bars. They are opening new places all the time, during 1999 they improved Soi Sunset and there are lot of new places there.Although there is a heavy nightlife in Patong, I think it suitable for families with kids anyway because the nightlife is centralised to just a small part of Patong, Bangla Road and Soi Sunset and if you avoid these streets on evenings and nights you will never notice it.

How about a night bazaar?

by Pinoy

For a change, maybe we should avoid bars and clubs. This time let me introduce to you the NIGHT BAZAARS. Within the past five years night bazaars have sprung up around Bangkok's major tourist area such as SILOM, PATPONG, and SURIWONGSE> roads. Centered near the MONTIEN HOTEL and concentrated along PATPONG road, but also found along SILOM and SURIWONGSE roads. The night bazaar consists of over 200 vendors who display their wares on makeshift tables. They primarly sells inexpensive clothes, watches, briefcases, leather goods, souvenirs. The NIGHT BAZAARis one of the high points of many individual's visit to Bangkok. The vendors seem to have something for everyone.

Sex shows, striptease shows 'go-go girls', 'go-go boys' and even 'go-go child'! Everything is available to any taste.Go to see the Alcazar Cabaret Show - a sentimental journey where the artful entertainment of the Alcazar Show will astonish you with magnificent scenes depicting different cultures. After they show you may take a photo together with the participants.

Transvestite Cabaret Show - Where all the Girls are Boys!!Pattaya is the capital of cabaret shows in Thailand. Featuring song, dance and comedy routines, Pattaya's cabaret shows are famous throughout the country and are known worldwide. Here, female dancers are so pretty, lovely and attractive, however, THESE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN WERE ACTUALLY BORN 'MALE' (!!) (but they look EXACTLY and COMPLETELY like women really - believe me) And some of them even have sweet female voice until you can never tell AT ALL whether 'she' is a 'he' - seriously! Their performances are so magnificient and amusing and the settings so fascinating that the show is a must for all visitors to Pattaya.

www.

by onebadcat

Kho San, Patpong and International Market were all good areas to hang out. Don't avoid Patpong because of it's red light reputation. There are other things going on and great bars that paralell the sex clubs. It is a must see area. Try the gay bars for good music and drinks.

Patpong - Local bars, Night Market,Silom - Small bars and clubs,Siam Square - Hard Rock Cafe (I went there every week when I lived in Bangkok) and Cm2 in Novotel Hotel,Sukhumvit Road - Local bars, Q-Bar in Sukhumvit Soi 11I normally visited the clubs for Thai and foreigners. My most favourite place is Hard Rock Cafe. But the last time I went back home, there were plenty of women (I don't want to describe). The satff said if HRC didn't let these women in, then foreigners wouldn't come in either. Anyway I had a great time with my friends and can't wait to visit HRC Bangkok again. I visited HRC in Munich as well, but it's so boring. HRC Bangkok is No.1 for me!Cm2 in Novotel Hotel - I had lots of fun with my friends. If you wanna go there, you shouldn't go there before 11 pm. But if you don't mind to find a good spot to sit and sip your drinks, then it's open about 9 pm.Spasso in Grand Hyatt...

I guess it wouldn't be the same if you went to Thailand and did not visit Patpong. I think the locals refer to it as the night market. However, be prepared! There are many strip clubs in this area!I was very impressed by this night club, it is called MOS (I think it stands for Mystical of Sounds). You should check it out!

Street markets: Street markets

by wen_viaggio

The street markets in Phuket come alive at night and a stroll around the shops and stalls is a must, even if you are not the 'shopper' type. Imitated or fake cheap goods that resemble the real stuff are perhaps the most common items you'll see for sale there. My tip would be to go for some unique souvenirs such as coloured seashells or hand crafted items.Don't be surprised if you find some sleazy 'toys' for sale too. Bargaining is encouraged and the locals who speak little English will use their calculators to negotiate prices with you. What they do is they key in the amount for sale in the calculator and if you are not satisfied, you key in another lower amount and this comical process goes on and on till there is a final agreement. T-shirts, shorts, jeans.
