Formerly Nong Muen Taan temple. This temple located an ordiantion hall or so call "Sim" in Esan dialect. This Sim assumed to be built in 24th Buddhist Era. It was renovated 2 times. Some interesting things in this Sim 're the style of Sim in local Esan style, the wood crafted pediment and front facade. Also, there 's a mural painting on front wall depicted about Buddha in Subduing Mara scence and Hell-Heaven scence.Inside wall decorated with painting about local tale "Sang Sin Chai".
This temple was built in Late Ayutthaya period. It was used as a place where royal oath taking ceremony was held. The interesting buildings 're Ubosot or ordination hall where decorated with mural painting on the outer wall. It depicted the story of Buddha life. At present, this temple also serve as monk college.
This pond is a symbol of Roi Et. At the centre of pond located a big island where served as a recreation and sport area. In an island also located the city pillar and city shrine. Around the pond, there 's a pathway where local come to enjoy picnic or jocking everyday.
Really pleasant place to eat with garden, terrace and covered areas. Tables are well spaced out in every section providing privacy. Few tv screens plus a big 100 plus plus screen for sports, video etc.
It opened at the beginning of June '12 opposite the army base/golf course (about 2 mins from Tesco Makro etc) towards the end of my contract in Roi Et but I went there many times and saw ongoing changes in that time. The food is not just good but very good..the staff happy and english is spoken...and I think its definitely the best quality up market restaurant in the area... 'Enjoy' on the airport road is another I would recommend, smaller than Rueanthai and no entertainment but good quality food and service, slightly more expensive.
Favorite Dish: T Bone Steak.... Giant battered Shrimp ...Mussaman curry..... Thai salad... on and on

Until now I have not come across a nightlife spot in Roi Et. Some of the restaurants and hotels have 'life music', which goes well together with some paracetamols. But that's about it. Coming july I'll give it another try, to find out more about nightlife in this Town.
