The food and ambience of the cruise was fantastic. You need to book in advance at it gets pretty busy.
We arrived at the restaurant and had a drink and perused the menu. We then boarded the boat and placed our order. When our food arrived the boat cruised up the Ping River and back.
Boarding time: 7 : 15 PM
Departure time: 8 : 00 PM
Duration: 75 minutes
Boat charge: 90B for adults / 45B for kids 5-10years
Reservations: recommended
Favorite Dish: The menu was varied with a huge selection of Thai and Western food. The Chicken Green Curry was delicious.

Call ahead if you can and request a table overlooking the river. This is a fun place to go . Lots of after work local crowd and tourists it's very popular. Of course . The food is great and the service friendly
We had been spending everynight roaming around the nightmarket .We were surprised when we crossed the river and went to this place . It is an example of the newer and more modern side of Chiang Mai.
They have dinner cruises leaving from here too.
Favorite Dish: The seabass was great!!

Travellers may wish to take one evening to dine at one of the lovely establishments clustered along the Ping River on Charoenrat Road. The ambience is relaxed and romantic, and definitely makes the expense worthwhile.

The Riverside: There are two so make sure you go to the right one. Great bar/restaurant on the banks of Ping River. Have live bands every night can sit indoors or out next to the river. Great food, great location.
They also have a small little cruise boat which firts 20 or so. Have to book it a day before. Goes on two hour cruise from Restaurant and you place your meal/drinks order before you leave. Remember to order enough drinks to last two hours. Romantic cruise and you can get some great shots of sunset in Chiang Mai on the river.
Also have live bands most nights. Really good atmosphere to enjoy a drink or a meal.
Favorite Dish: Has a large menu with Thai cruisine, Western food and fresh seafood. They make a great Veal snitznel but their Thai is also delicious.

Great place to hang out and dining with river view , nice garden decorated and life music .
When I visited the jazz band was so good. Notice : please try to go early ,if you ‘d like to touch a river view closely.
Open from early night till 3.00 am.

We'd read about the Riverside Restaurant on the web and in guidebooks and so were a bit reluctant to dine in a "tourist" place. We're glad we went, though. Yes, it was packed with tourists, but also locals. The food was good, the prices reasonable and the scenery excelent.
Set on the banks of the Ping river, be sure to arrive just before sunset. You'll be able to snag a table by the water and enjoy the sunset and view while sipping a cold drink.
We tried both Thai and international options and weren't disappointed. There are two good reasons this place gets so much press - ambiance and good food!

The view is absolutely wonderful when the sun sets over river Ping, the restaurants service is fast and friendly
