Visit to the Snake Farms
If you are visiting the Mae Taeng Elephant Park from Chiang Mai City, chances are that your tour guide will bring you to the Mae Sa Snake Farm as well on the way back from the park. It may be a little touristy, but it is really quite interesting since it is after all, it is the largest snake centre in Northern Thailand.
The show consist of their snake handlers showing their competence in handling Thai cobras, pythons, and some sort of tree jumping snakes. It was an entertaining show and they even showed how they extracted the snake venom from the Thai cobra.
Being a tourist spot, there will be ample opportunities for you to take a photo with a python as well for those interested ;-)
Show times are at 11.30am, 2.15pm, and 3.30pm daily and the entry is 200 baht.

On the way back from Pang Chang or Elephant Camp on the same route, we visited snake farm. There was a snake show, men played with snakes, somethimes they did throw snake to the visitors..they were nearly shocked.. not fun at all.. I dont like snake but had to join with my friends and for me it s such a terrible show.. I sat at remote seat the most I can. Within the area there're snakes in the case.
After we finished looking at terrible show at snake farm, someone there recommended us going to monkey school where not so far, we felt like to check it out. There was a lot monkeys with chain at their neck, they said all them monkeys just new and young, they were in training period soon they can make a show. well school! Those monkey looked not that happy with chain at their neck. We join the show that look so sad for monkey, many visitors couldn't even finish watching that show. They said the trainner came from Koh Samui where a lot monkey there and they train them to get coconut on coconut tree, but here is Chiang mai? That happened in couple of years ago, the school was just opened, I don't know how of them by now.
