On the way to Mae Sai from Chiang Rai, we passed by a whole load of stalls alongside the road selling all things to do with strawberry's - juice, wine, liquor and, indeed, strawberries themselves. We stopped at one of them to try some of the juice and it was so good that I bought a bottle for 40 baht. Lovely stuff!

Shop till you drop! I don't usually buy alot while travelling but since this was my last stop before heading home I loaded up on plenty of unique household items......coasters, serving trays, embroidered cloths, figurines, and just about anything else you can think of. You may have to bring home an extra bag full of the stuff you bought in Mae Sai or in Tachilek.
What to buy: Great stuff to decorate the walls of your house back home! You choose!
What to pay: Its cheaper in Mae Sai then it is in Bangkok, but its cheaper in Tachilek, Burma then it is in Mae Sai...............with that said its just easier to shop in Mae Sai and you'll have more shops to choose from.
