When we rented out our motorbikes we decided to go and visit as many local attractions as possible including the attractive sounding hot spings. When we got there (after riding past horribel looking elephant camps that I would advise people to avoid) the hot springs were just shallow pool of almost boiling water and they of course stank of rotten eggs. I dont know what I was expecting really. I wanted to be able to go in them if possible. Some local Thai's were cooking some sausages in the water. On the way out we noticed a monky tied to a tree wiht a bit of rope about 1m long. I saw this a few times in Thailand actually but it was always distressing.

Days will melt away in this welcoming area. Although it has become quite touristy, when I was there in low season it was very relaxing and we didn't feel crowded at all.
