The Srisachanalai Historical Park covered 3 main areas included Sri Sachanalai city,Chalieng city and Sangkhalok kiln area.In Sri Sachanalai city,there 're more than 50 temples.This city surrounded with city moat and rampart.The old gates still found on the South and North side.The main temples of this city stands in a row with the principal temple, Chang Lom temple.Others interesting 're Chedi Chet Teaw temple,Nang Phya temple,Khao Phon Pleong temple and Khao Suwankiri temple.For Chalieng city,it was the first city before Sri Sachanalai city,there 're Phra Sri Mahathat Chalieng temple as the principal temple.Others 're Chom Choun temple,Chao Chan temple and Kok Singkharam temple. On the North outside the city moat, located the Sangkhalok Kiln area.There 're the excavation sites and The Studies and Preservation Center on Sangkhalok Kiln.
The Historical Park open daily from 8.00am.-5.00pm. Admission fee : 40 B /person. Service : Tram for sightseeing around the city 30 B/ person and Elephant riding

This is a big temple where located outside the city moat.The main building is a group of 3 chedis in a row behide the viharn.In the history,it told about King Phra Ruang was renew the Era at this temple.Another interesting building 's a big Viharn where built from laterite.

This temple located on the Western Hill of Sri Sachanalai city.The interesting building there is the chedi with 9 spires as the name of temple "Kao Yod".This chedi is unique in style and decoration.Inside the chedi used to have a mural painting but it was destroyed by nature.

Sukhothai was welknown in pottery making.That pottery called Sangkhalok.The Sukhothai pottery was exported to many countries and other local areas.The pottery was made with high quality and good material and also the design 's unique. Sangkhalok Kiln or Tao Turiang found in 2 main areas of Sukhothai. One in Sukhothai city and another 's Sri Sachanalai(Ko Noi area).In Sri Sachanalai,found more 500 kilns with 1 kms. area.It told how large of the manufacture in this area.In the excavation site,they found a lot of potteries both completed and broken.And the shape of kiln 's oval shape like boat in reserse side with 7-8 meters long.Nowaday,there 's the studies and preservation center on the Sangkhalok Kiln where you can see the exhibition on pottery making and development.Pottery shops're also available in this area.

The temple of Chalieng city,or so called "Wat Phra Boromthaat Muang Chalieng" or "Wat Phra Prang".This temple is the important temple of Chalieng city. The name of this temple occured in the 1st incription of King Ram Kamhaeng of Sukhothai Kingdom and other later chronicles. This is temple also be the preaching place for royal head -sprinking water from the past to present.The archaologists assumed that this temple was built in pre-Sukhothai period with the same period as Phra Pai Luang temple in Sukhothai city. Originally,it was used in Mahayana Buddhism and changed to Hinayana Buddhism in Sukhothai period.
The principal building of this temple is Prang where housed the great relic of Buddha.This prang assumed to be built in Ancient Khmer style and reconstructed on the old one by King Borom Trai Lokkanath of Ayutthaya period and later,renovated by King Boromkoth of Ayutthaya. At the front of Prang,located a huge viharn housed a master piece Buddha image of Sukhothai style in walking position.Other intersting buildings in this temple 're Sub-chedis with shrine decorated with stucco,temple fence and gate which decorated the uuper part with stocco.The most beautiful and unique one is the East side gate.Behide the big prang,located a big chedi built from laterite and some viharns.

This temple is close to Chom Chuan temple by walking distance.This temple was built in Ancient Khmer style.It used to be religious place in Pre-Sukhothai period.At that time, Sukhothai was ruled by Ancient Khmer Empire.The main building called Prang where used to housed the holy image. At the front,there's viharn as preaching hall. And on the side of temple located Mondop housed an unfinished standing Buddha image inside.

The Fine Art Department have excavated on the temple area and found 12 skeletons and some potteries.These evidences can describe that Chalieng city used to be the pre-historic community before settled a big city.The evidence can turn back to 9 Buddhist centuries.The Fine Art Department have established a site museum for this archaeology site. The museum have a roof look like a small mountain ,it’s worth for visiting.

Situated near Yom River,from Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat temple on the east about 400 meters . There ‘re some interesting buildings such as Bell-shaped Chedi , Vihara and mondop.This Mondop decorated with beautiful stucco on the pediment (back side).But almost stucco was destoyed by nature so it just left some parts which cannot describe the story of this stucco.In this temple ground,there is a site museum of Pre-historic site.

Chalieng city was a former city of Sri Sachanalai city. It was as twin city with Sukhothai where have Yom river pass the center of city.On the bank of Yom river have some interesting places such as Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat temple,Tao Turieng or pottery kiln center,Chao Chan temple,Chom Chuan temple,Site museum of pre-historic excavation and more. The reason of shifting city location was the changing of water current which destroyed some important parts of the city.

The hilltop temple situated 200 meters from Khao Phnom Ploeng temple. It also located on the same range as Khao Pnm Ploeng. There ‘s a huge bellshaped chedi on 5 tiered bases. On each side have a Buddha image houses in 4 niches. Over the bell shape and a square shape ,can see a walking Buddha sculptures around. Behide the huge chedi is a small bellshape chedi surround with a laterite wall . The gate of this wall still have a beautiful stucco decorated on . And also the guardians still found around that area though it’s not complete.From this temple, watching sunset here ‘s very fascinated. But must be careful , if you go up alone.
