Most of Karen in thungyai include Huay Khakang that cover Kanjanaburi, Supanburi, Uthaithani and Umphang, Tak beleive in their religion, "Perjeh"
Perjeh's fundamental is similar to Buddhism, believe in “Phra Sri Arayamettai”. the believe said “Arayamettai” was a last human civilization . Karen in Thungyai also live for this social.
Perjeh's new year is full moon of month 4 th in lunar calendar system, around March. They celebrate since half of moon through full moon, 7 days and 7 nights. They pray in morning and evening, after sunset, for 2 – 3 hours.
The celebration held in Mortha village for new generation and Laitungkoo for traditional. In Mortha, uncle Phinij, former Communist Party stuff and perjeh pilgrim, is a leader.

If someone in a Karen village dies, all the persons' neighbors and friends will stop work for the day. Working right after someone has died is prohibited. In Karen this is called, “deupgasalaw ma." It means, "a prohibition for the spirit of the deceased which has passed away. " Everyone in the village will stop work to come attend the funeral of the deceased.
The funeral also do when the cousin ready to do such as the person's sons, daughters or brothers live far away can't come to join. They will consult for looking a suitable time, mostly after harvesting or dry season.
Outstanding rite is “Matha” chant trunk mostly by young people but now the young didn't do that it will be lost in next generation.
